Okay, I'm not referring to the professors of universities and colleges, I'm refering to teachers in primary and secondary schools. Where do they fit into the class spectrum? Are they petty-bourgeois or proletariat?

They are easily proletariat. They have no workers under them. They tend to be underpaid. Many of them are in unions. They are just trying to make a living by selling their skills.

Same with managers. The problem is that they both have a hierarchal relationship with their subordinates, despite being economically exploited.

Teachers are a bit different, they are middle class most likely, and have traits of more than one class.

Especially in the cases you refer to I think they are a bit different as they are those perpetuating capitalist ideals most effectively to children. There are a few teachers that go in to make a difference, however few keep up this hope, either accepting the school's line, or leaving the job.

If there was a violent revolution any time soon, although I am generally opposed to violence, it would be some of my teacher's heads that roll first.

I have a high respect for teachers although my history teacher is a beourgeois **** but the teachers at my school have to put up with kids in my class for shit money which is respectable. That is why i'm going to go all the way and skip high school teaching and go for university
