What are some known lies about whats happening in the middle east, I have an arabic friend from palestin(sp) and he says that Sharon pulled out of Gaza, just to reinforce troops in another part, and there is no coverage of this, also, he stated to me that his dad can speak afgani and says that the interpreters lie about some of the things Osama would say in his speeches. Is there any truth to this or what?

Yes. Osama speaks in Arabic more often than Afghani, AFAIK. Other lies include:

The Iraqi Resistance Targets Civilians see http://lefthook.org/Politics/Alam041605.html

Abu Musab al-Zarqawi The US blames him for almost everything they don't like in Iraq and uses him as this bogeyman, but there's very little evidence he's even alive any more. He was reported dead during the 2003 invasion and the only real evidence that he's alive & doing anything in Iraq is (1) statements from the US government and its allies (obviously not credible) and (2) various posts on the internet, which could have been made by anyone (including US intelligence), and are not verifiable

The Iraqi Resistance is composed mostly of foreigners The Pentagon's own statistics show foreigners comprise less than 5% of the resistance, the rest are Iraqis

Most Iraqis support the occupation Even the British Ministry of defense found this was wrong: it conducted a poll, leaked a few months ago, that found 82% of Iraqis oppose the occupation.

The US supports democracy in the Middle East The US supports many dictatorships including Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Kuwait. It has also overthrown many democracies, such as Iran in the early '50s.

The US is an impartial negotiator in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict The US gives more foreign aid to Israel than any other country in the world.

So what my friend says about Sharon and his policy would most likely be true, because today I said to him it seems that Sharon's getting better with the conflict and allowing Arabs thier land, and he said no, he pulled out of the Gaza to reinforce a different part, and whats going on there is worse than Gaza but its getting no coverage becuase its the Jews doing it not the musliums(sp)

I always thought the Holy US empire seemed a little too honest.

I belive that does get coverage. Most Western news analyses mention that Sharon's pullout was intended to help him keep some of the West Bank.
