there is a World trade organization summit on Dec. 13. which will basically decide on weather or not to put developing countries on the same playing field as the rich ones
How can you expect the WTO to put developing countries on the same “playing field” as those rich countries , those rich countries will never allow it .The WTO is unfair and bias toward multinational corporations and wealthy nations. The WTO itself is criticized as being the tool of powerful nations and failure to join the WTO will result in an embargo on those countries that do not join .So how can you expect the WTO to put developing countries on the same playing field as the rich ones?[/b]
I never expected nor said that the WTO was going to put developing countries on the same "playing field" as developed ones. we all know that the WTO is corrupt and one sided. The question was about the importance of fair trade and it is a fact that a summit was to take place to discuss this. The fact that the WTO has managed once again to ignore global poverty is no surprise. And i do believe that for the speech in question it is important to address the truth about the WTO and by doing so, bring awareness to the issue of Fair Trade.
peace.
