Albania - Use of airspace, land and territorial waters.

Britain - 42,000 personnel including quarter or army, third of air force and large naval deployment.

Bulgaria - Use of airspace and military airport; offering 150-soldier non-combat unit

Croatia - Logistical support, no details offered

Czech Republic - Army unit specialized in dealing with WMD (weapons of mass destruction) aftermath

Denmark - 70 elite soldiers and a submarine if action is authorized

Estonia - May permit use of air space.

Hungary - Use of air base to train Iraqi opposition for non-combat roles.

Italy - Use of bases for refueling and technical assistance

Latvia - Will authorize use of airspace

Lithuania - Use of air space, may send troops

Macedonia - Will contribute but no details offered

Netherlands - Use of airspace, bases and harbors

Poland - Man send ships for ferrying US troops to Persian Gulf

Portugal - Use of air base in Azores Islands.

Romania - 278 non-combat WMD decontamination specialists, military police and mine clearance units; use of Black sea air and navel bases

Slovakia - 75-soldier anti-chemical warfare unit to Kuwait; use of airspace and bases

Slovenia - Supports the US but no details offered

Spain - Logistical suport and possibly troops

Turkey - Allowing US to renovate bases, may let US troops attack from Turkish territory

Canada - Sent military planners to US headquarters in Qatar

Australia - 2,000 solders to Gulf.

- 450 aircraft deployed.
- 3 Battle ship carriers, and a 4th on the way.
- an amphibious task force and two amphibious groups.

Center for Strategic and International Studies estimates Iraq's armed forces at 389,000 full time soldiers; down from 1 million before the Gulf War. 2,600 main battle tanks, 3,700 armored vehicles, 2,400 major artillary weapons, 300 combat aircraft, 850 surface-to-air missiles launchers and 3,000 anti-aircraft guns.
Iraqs navey has an est. nine small combat ships,assorted mines and land-based anti-ship missiles.

1991- US-led coalition bombarded Iraqi targets with air strikes for 38 days during Operation Desert Strorm and a ground offensive of a 100 hours. The US had 766 casualties , including 148 battle deaths from 'friendly fire." Iraq had more than 85,000 casualties.

It seems Iraq may have a chance, not they might win, but a lot of damage could be caused. I don't think that Bush will hesistae to drop some bombs and destroy whatever is needed to beat Saddam. Sad to see so meany nations backing the US.

It really is amazing to see how all these countries are not able to make their own stands and to speak out against the war with most of their populations.
