Over here in Perth West Australia we had about 30 thousand. This is really, really good considering we are only a small city anyway and last rally there were only 2 thousand. Also my uncle gave one of the best speeches of the day. So yeah.. I'm happy :)
Perhaps everyone else could post how many ppl were recorded (organiser's stats not media) at your international day of protest against a war on Iraq. Peace.

I'm in Sydney, estimates range from 250 000 to 500 000.
May I ask who your uncle is?

Yeah i heard 500 000 in Sydney.... And i think that was the medias stat.... So maybe even more! My uncle's name is Ian Bolas... He is one of the co-conviners (or how eva u spell it) of the Sociallist Alliance over here in Perth... Plus he has been involved with the CFMEU for many, many years... Anyway i thought he gave the best speech of the day.... Better than the stupid Unions WA rep. Anyway does anyone know wat the official number was for London? They were predicting 1 - 2 million. It is probably on the news.... But i can't be screwed watching T.V and putting up with all the commercial bullshit :D

The Malaysian demo, in front of the US Embassy in Kuala Lumpur, recorded a measly 2,000 peace activists, which isn't altogether surprising, given that Malaysians normally don't go to demonstrations! :cheesy:

Haha, nice one. You're not Singaporean by any chance, are you?
No, we are generally politically-apathetic and appallingly naive when it comes to such things. Well, except the good old leftists, of course.

We had 100,000 at the demo here in Dublin and we were only expecting 10,000 which I thought was even an optimistic number seeing as the demo's normally only attract about 2,500. It's probably the 2nd biggest protest in the history of this country.

Well in the Isle of Man numbers changed, I estimate that at peak ooh maybe even 35. It was really just petition gathering, peole came and signed, but there wasn't really anyone to protest to, I think the governtment disagree already with the war, and we will have a representitive going to hand the petition to Tony Blair.

I went to Amsterdam together with Malte and D Day, was really cool.
The optimists expected around 30000 but a great number of 70000 appeard.
Was a really nice day, glad that I was a part of it!

I wish there was one around here, in Florida, but unfortunately their wasn't. If their had been a protest, probably about four people would have shown up. Sad, very sad, but glad as always to see you Europeans and Australians getting together to try to put an end to the war.

We had a fairly good one here in Philadelphia, about 10,000. I figured more of the people would have gone to NYC, and I wish I could've gone, but the Philly protest was adequate as well.

I was on the front lines (literally) at the NYC protests.
We numbered in the hundreds of thousands btw.

It was pretty ridiculous in NYC how they had fenced in the protesters every block. I don't know how many times I had to jump over the barricades to finally get to the stage.

Fucking police.... Over here in Perth the cops couldn't have done anythin even if they wanted to.... Something which i'm begining to get very annoyed with is the media... 1. for obvious reasons like there stupid right wing views of this war and basically everything in the world... 2. They always quote a 1/3 of the real numbers in rallys..... The emdia only quoted 10 000 here when there was atleast 30 000.... I mean it's fucking stupid.... We only have 1, maybe 2 decent-non privatised t.v networks.... The others are all owned by 2 people.... Anyway i wish there was more socialist news.... Radio is good tho.... Well the national station is good.... Anyway enough of my blabbering.... Thanx for all the info.... Hopefully if nothing else the rallys have made a couple of ppl around the world think "hey why are those ppl so upset??"... Anyway PEACE TO MOTHER EARTH.

I went to the one in Rome here we had 3MILLON!! the whole city was literally FULL of protesters, and it was a very colorful and interesting rally (the protestors went form christian groups to communist activists). Unfortunatly mainstream media quoted only about 1million.

We had about 20,000 here in Belfast.
As for police/media figures, Ken Livingstone once said that you should take what they say and multiply it by 2. That sounds about right to me.

Unfortunately, here in Florida we didn't have jack squat for protests. I did here the national news report that we had demonstrations in 53 cities all across the country. I gotta get out of this town and get to where the action is.

we had a picnic, dont know who had the bright idea, but we got 3000 but more people were coming and going so the amount that attended would have been higher.
It didnt even show it on the news it was so passive.

We had 5,000 in San Diego. It doesn't seem like much, but I'm proud of our meager number. That is, when you take into consideration that this is the largest military town on earth (more armed men then any other city in the world). They had 100,000 or more in San Fransisco, which is also a good turn out for a city of 600,000.... Anyway, I would say the day was a success world wide.

Its amazing how our countries continue to call themselves democratic while they openly state that they'll continue acting against public opinion!
