Does anyone listen to/ have anything to say about Skinny Puppy? They make some amazingly smart stuff. Check out the songs Tin Omen, Human Disease, Testure, VX Gas Attack, and the like.

Oh yes! To date I only have Too Dark Park and a few mp3s, but it's great music. very subversive, dark, twisted and beautiful.

I like it enough when I'm straight, but me and a buddy were doing triple C's (we were stupid) and he put it on... scared the shit out of me.

I used to be heavily into Skinny Puppy back in the early 90s. In fact, one of my favorite concert experiences was seeing them play with Godflesh at the Hollywood Palladium back in 1991 (during my "industrial-rock" phase). I think it was for the tour promoting their Too Dark Park album. They put on some amazing stage shows. I still have vivid memories of Ogre reaching into his belly and pulling out balloon-like organs. Actually, they probably were just balloons, but it was still pretty fucking cool.

I'm pretty shocked right now. I just looked up the band's website (http://www.skinnypuppy.com/) to get the release date of The Process, which up until this moment I had believed was their final album. I thought they broke up after Goettel OD'd. Apparently they have reformed and released another record. What a trip.

Anyhow, The Process is really an incredible record. It was made during a time when guitar-heavy industrial rock was making a comeback and Nine Inch Nails was gaining some attention, so it has more of a metal edge than their earlier material.

I'm not really "into" the whole electronic scene anymore, but I still manage to dig out my Pigface (http://www.invisiblerecords.com/bands/pigface/) records once in awhile, and of course Ministry (http://www.ministrymusic.org/) is always in heavy rotation in my car stereo.
