Just watched this film and I have to say it is one of the best films I have ever seen. Even though it is a subtitled filmed, and I usually hate watching anything with subtitles.

Has anyone else seen this and is this film based on a true story?

By the way, by true story I don't mean was the Holocaust a true story, rather was the story about the boys father saying it was a game a true story. It would be interesting to read the book of it, if there is one.

I saw this movie and loved it as well. It is a very moving piece that left me quite emotional at the end.

If I am not mistaken, isn't this the movie where the father/son go to the nazi camps and he tries to mock the nazi's in front of the boy while hiding him there?

If so, fantastic movie. However, I thought it was in English ....
