It depends, there are some songs by some bands that are leftist, but the rest of their songs are just normal. Like Godsmack have a few that are leftist, but most are just the usual hard rock.
A Perfect Circle (Songs - Let's have a war,
KMFDM (Songs - Anarchy, WWIII, Witchhunt [Probably more])
Pennywise (Songs - Fuck Authority, Perfect People, Society)
John Butler Trio (Not really sure if it's leftist, but in some of their songs they seem to be against capitalism)
Godsmack (Songs - Bad religion)

I really wouldn't say SOAD are leftist, they're just generally against injustice, to quote Daron himself, SOAD aren't a political band any more than they are a band of stand-up comedians... :D

Yes well that kind of relates back to my question. And well if your against injustace than you oviously have some sort of left wing opinion on things.

Damn, I don't even know where to begin. There are a million punk bands that are leftist in one form or another:
Dead Kennedys, Crass, Subhumans, DOA, Propagandhi, Good Riddance, Bad Religion
All of those are reasonably popular bands with large followings.
Hell, even NOFX's latest record was 30 minute rant against Bush.

I think you should limit the bands to only ones that openly talk about activism and leftist issues otherwise your list will start looking like Amazon.com's music section.
I'd say 80% of rock and hip hop and soul bands could be considered vaguely leftist... and at certain periods of time and in certain generes 99.9% of bands would be leftist!
At any rate, I like a lot more bands than the ones I am about to list, but they are the most openly and didactically leftist that I can think of right now:
The Redskins - "Neither Washington Nor Moscow"
Gil Scott Heron! - you know, he wrote 'Whitey on the Moon'
Last Poets - grandaddys of consious hip-hop. The were all bongos and black liberation in the 70s
The Clash - maybe I missed it, but did no one mention them yet?
Public Enemy
Dead Prez and Dead Kennedys are both worth mentioning again.

IMMORTAL TECHNIQUE
http://img354.imageshack.us/img354/3250/techfront5up.jpg (http://imageshack.us)
[Talking]
The new age is upon us
And yet the past refuses to rest in its shallow grave
For those who hide behind the false image of the son of man
shall stand before God!!! It has begun
The beginning of the end
Yeah..
Yeah... yeah, yeah
[Verse 1]
The voice of racism preaching the gospel is devilish
A fake church called the prophet Muhammad a terrorist
Forgetting God is not a religion, but a spiritual bond
And Jesus is the most quoted prophet in the Qu'ran
They bombed innocent people, tryin' to murder Saddam
When you gave him those chemical weapons to go to war with Iran
This is the information that they hold back from Peter Jennings
Cause Condoleeza Rice is just a new age Sally Hemmings
I break it down with critical language and spiritual anguish
The Judas I hang with, the guilt of betraying Christ
You murdered and stole his religion, and painting him white
Translated in psychologically tainted philosophy
Conservative political right wing, ideology
Glued together sloppily, the blasphemy of a nation
Got my back to the wall, cause I'm facin' assassination
Guantanamo Bay, federal incarceration
How could this be, the land of the free, home of the brave?
Indigenous holocaust, and the home of the slaves
Corporate America, dancin' offbeat to the rhythm
You really think this country, never sponsored terrorism?
Human rights violations, we continue the saga
El Savador and the contras in Nicaragua
And on top of that, you still wanna take me to prison
Just cause I won't trade humanity for patriotism
[Hook]
It's like MK-ULTRA, controlling your brain
Suggestive thinking, causing your perspective to change
They wanna rearrange the whole point of view of the ghetto
The fourth branch of the government, want us to settle
A bandana full of glittering, generality
Fighting for freedom and fighting terror, but what's reality?
Read about the history of the place that we live in
And stop letting corporate news tell lies to your children
[Verse 2]
Flow like the blood of Abraham through the Jews and the Arabs
Broken apart like a woman's heart, abused in a marriage
The brink of holy war, bottled up, like a miscarriage
Embedded correspondents don't tell the source of the tension
And they refuse to even mention, European intervention
Or the massacres in Jenin, the innocent screams
U.S. manufactured missles, and M-16's
Weapon contracts and corrupted American dreams
Media censorship, blocking out the video screens
A continent of oil kingdoms, bought for a bargain
Democracy is just a word, when the people are starvin'
The average citizen, made to be, blind to the reason
A desert full of genocide, where the bodies are freezin'
And the world doesn't believe that you fightin' for freedom
Cause you fucked the Middle East, and gave birth to a demon
It's open season with the CIA, bugging my crib
Trapped in a ghetto region like a Palestinian kid
Where nobody gives a fuck whether you die or you live
I'm tryin' to give the truth, and I know the price is my life
But when I'm gone they'll sing a song about Immortal Technique
Who beheaded the President, and the princes and sheiks
You don't give a fuck about us, I can see through your facade
Like a fallen angel standing in the presence of God
***** niggaz scared of the truth, when it looks at you hard
[Hook]
It's like MK-ULTRA, controlling your brain
Suggestive thinking, causing your perspective to change
They wanna rearrange the whole point of view in the ghetto
The fourth branch of the government, want us to settle
A bandana full of glittering, generality
Fighting for freedom and fighting terror, but what's reality?
Martial law is coming soon to the hood, to kill you
While you hanging your flag out your project window
[Talking]
Yeah..
The fourth branch of the government AKA the media
Seems to now have a retirement plan for ex-military officials
As if their opinion was at all unbiased
A machine shouldn't speak for men
So shut the fuck up you mindless drone!
And you know it's serious
When these same media outfits are spending millions of dollars on a PR campaign
To try to convince you they're fair and balanced
When they're some of the most ignorant, and racist people
Giving that type of mentality a safe haven
We act like we share in the spoils of war that they do
We die in wars, we don't get the contracts to make money off 'em afterwards!
We don't get weapons contracts, nigga!
We don't get cheap labor for our companies, nigga!
We are cheap labor, nigga!
Turn off the news and read, nigga!
Read... read... read...

You can consider System Of a Down, leftist.
They said socialism was good and Serj's book 'Cool Gardens' can be said to have leftist ideas in it, they are against American corporations and war and so on so they're definitely not capitalist. Their music is not all political but if it is, it is based on leftist ideas and 'morals'.

What, three drunken twats giving the Nazi Salute means songs like Army Life (http://www.plyrics.com/lyrics/exploited/armylife.html), Fuck The USA (http://www.plyrics.com/lyrics/exploited/fucktheusa.html), Law For The Rich (http://www.plyrics.com/lyrics/exploited/lawfortherich.html) and counless other anti-war, ant-authoritarian, leftist songs don't mean shit? Fuck That!
Here's the lyrics to one of the "Nazi's" songs
"Hitler's In The Charts Again"
Listen to the sound of the soldiers dancing
Armageddon time on the firing line
Don't know what they're doing
Looks like troundles brewing
Wunderbar auf Wiedersehen
Hitler's in the charts again
You look like a tramp put you in a camp
Join the shower quenue in your dancing shoes
Be the dancing champ of your concentration camp
Keep on movin' fast remember Belsen was a gas
Hitlers in the charts again
Moving in trance watch the soldiers dance
Bloodstains on their feet scared of everyone you meet
Armys on the street can you feel the heat
Watch the soldiers fall it couldnt happen here
Riot starting, bouncer bashing, cop baiting, hotel trashing, foul talking, noise making, chaos causing, venue wrecking, government hating, rule breaking, piss taking, unrelenting, punk rocking…. Clearly we're not talking about Pepsi adverts here, or indeed the many so-called punk bands that would gleefully sell themselves to such corporate giants for a palm full of silver. Whoo-hoo! The taste of a generation! Fuck off! Let's get one thing straight: The Exploited are not 'punkers' or any of the other cutesy, watered down, MTV friendly names you might want to call them.
also,
They've been accused of being dumb (yes, sometimes, but wilfully so) and causing trouble (guilty again, but smashing stuff is fun and punks are supposed to be obnoxious). But The Exploited are also fiercely (not to mention bluntly) socially and politically aware, covering everything from the Criminal Justice Act to the increasing use of Big Brother CCTV and never wavering from their anti-authoritarian, anti-war stance. And while a critic once suggested they were stating the obvious (politicians are liars and war is bad), someone is still voting for the fuckers and we seem to be on the brink of World War Three. Someone should be shouting about it for Christ's sake! And no one shouts louder than The Exploited!
The Exploited are Leftist punk rock!

Maybe the young Depeche Mode. They were leftist at the beginning of their career, they gave a concert in the DDR for free and the album covers of their first 3 or 4 albums looked like they were using leftist symblos and some of their lyrics were, too having a leftist kind of message in it and as far as I know the songwriter said once they were marxists but I think they already changed their minds....well,nevermind.
