I've heard some mews about a Bolivian police riot. According to the media, the police was protesting against a 12% income tax from the government over the wages. The military forces and the police of Bolivia had a serious conflict resulting in 8 people dead and 25 wounded.

One of our new Che members, Latin America, is from Bolivia, so hopefully, we can get first hand info.

the whole of Latin America is a time bomb waiting to go off. i think the've finally had enough of the Americans enjoying high living standards of there hard work. some good left wingers being elected so maybe they should work together and form some sort of anti-globalisation alliance.

maybe in this chaos, the Bolivian people will do something worthwhile to change there situation. first go the Yankees, then go the corrupt governments and then comes Latin Americas freedom.

Good one!!! Hasta la Victoria siempre!!! This Fucking none speaking Spanish bastard Sanches de Lozada will not pass the law to Bolivian congress!!! Fuck the Bolivian president!!!

I've heard a little about this. I have Americanized news so I only hear about things/events if there are deaths....... or they're communist related, but that's not the canadian news, we don't really care about anti-communism. Blah blah and more stuff :( All I heard was that it was a tax-rebellion and there were 7-8 deaths. Bah, that's north america for you :(

Oh yeah, and we have a 15% tax on goods on the East Coast of Canada. But no one really cares about it rising, we recieve a lot of benefits from it, like free healthcare and education and a rising maritime debt  Ain't it dandy? *rolls eyes* but I'm not complaining though, I have no reason to. But yeah, it's a shame about what's going on in Bolivia.

I just saw on BBC here at 12pm (5 hours ago) that the cops, students and so on were burning parliamentary buildings.

Scrapping the army, students with guns, oh yes!

The cops joined in cos they get paid next to nothing and if the tax hikes go on they will be getting paid shit.

They raised the tax to pay off foreign debt, fuck the debt, power to the people!!!

LONG LIVE!!!

Finally, an example of police waking up and working for their class rather than against it.

Bolivia has had a long history of being repressed by the US. Remember, it was the CIA-backed fascist dictatorship in Bolivia which killed Che.

NZ, there is an important fact about cops in bolivia, they are poor enough to join a good cause, while the military are not on the poor side, but on the "power's" side (government).

I know what ya mean Larissa.

The soldiers looked like they were taken care of, shiney weapons where the cops looked really poor, thier revolvers were almost flintlock pistols.

I wish cops over here were poor, then they wouldnt think they are above us. I saw a cool number plate last night on this car the number was "H8 PIGS"

Camarada nz revolution; Bolivian police officers are very poor, they don't get well paid, that is why they got crazy with the 12.5% tax, the president Sanche is a fucking desconsiderate bastard! Bolivian people barely make enough money to eat and this fucker want to take the money away! What in the fuck is up with this Bastard! Fuck Sanchez de Lozada!!!

Yeah I know they are poor, Im sure I never said they were otherwise.

They should maybe hang this man, Im sure if they cut his salary in half then half again that would give the govt a hell of a lot more money to pay everyone.

Fuck most presidents and prime ministers everywhere
