I come from a middle class family that used to be quite poor, used to live in the "poor" area of NYC. My mom and dad both work very hard and make good money. They have raised me to work for what I need and not to go looking for what I want but be thankfull when I get it. I can not thank them enough for raising me like that. So anyway I am a marxist who thinks that Mao had the right idea in some areas. I'm trying to embrace a lifestyle that allows me to practice my leftist beliefs in a middle class capitalist enviroment. I have already adopted Che's idea of volunteering for public services every sunday. In my case I am very skilled with computers and networking them, so I help out the systems admins for my local school system and I also help elderly learn how to use computers and I build cheap computers and donate them to homeless shelters so the homeless can still experience the wonder of the internet. I am going to start donating a certain percentage of my income once I find a good place to donate to. I am trying to find other ways to practice my beliefs in my current state.
Is there anyone in a similar situation who has an ideas or already does certain things that I might be able to implement?
