Last night on the US corporate news, they issued the statement, that americans should start buying plastic sheeting and duct (gaffer) tape to seal windows, and stock up on water and canned food in the event of a chemical attack.
This kind of "reporting" to insite fear should be illegal. I've never witnessed in my whole life the marketing job this government is doing to sell this goddamn war. This of course right on the heels of the raising the terror alert to "orange", whatever the fuck that means.
Pathetic.

"This hysteria brought to you by the friendly folks at your neighborhood Ace Hardware Store...your headquarters for plastic sheeting, duct tape, and fine tools."

People...
I will just tell you something REAL. I'm currently translating a document (English > Spanish) called "A Guide to Emergency Preparedness" for Scott K. York, Chairman, Northern Virginia Regional Commission, targeted to the Spanish-speaking audience of Virginia.
After the 9/11 events, I have translated several similar documents for the authorities of Virginia.
IMO, the real "terror" is being spread since long ago, for instance, since Bush decided he would start a war to oust Saddam and get the oil.
But, have you ever talked to ppl who survived a real war? Or people who currently live under "war-like" conditions?
Sometimes, (me included) we think as if, for whatever reason, we were faaaaaar from finding ourselves in the need to take preventive measures. But, WITHOUT falling into panic and hysteria, I think it is wise to open our ears. An alert is just that, an alert.
People should fear more the "unknown" issues and facts of this war, which will never ever certainly be disclosed or come out to light, rather than feeling fear or panic because of emergency measures are announced.
Even such a moron like Bush is more scary than the US corporate news.
Take care, but don't panic. (And I'm not taking part on a misinformation campaign) Just letting you know what some docs that fall into my hands talk about.

i agree with you Larissa, and i do live in a war...my parents lived it and theirsa before them and its nowhere near over...but the point is that the U$ media does not issue these reports as warnings or signals for the people to beware...the whole problem is that the government uses this to brainwash their stuffed-puppets (people) of how us terrorists outside are attacking them from all areas..even their food...in war the real problems are not known about from before...they are not the issues that you are warned about like tieing your shoe lace so you dont trip...its the tank that you find breaking down your front door at 3 aclock in the morning...its the friend you saw shot down in front of your eyes after lunch a minute before...its the boy who promised he'd never leave you before he goes to fight for his land...its not a canned tuna gone bad..and deffinetly not one in america..the real stuff happens to the people america attacks..they are never the victems, they're just good actors

Yes, Doshka. I understand what you mean, and it is very true.
