I was watching the CNN news. at work with some coworkers. and the situation in Venezuela came up . so one of them said.. "We Should build a Big Dome around the USA. so all this people stop trying to come here.. we help them we feed them and they hate us." i wanted to say something but i cant really start a arguement . me being the only Socialist probably on miles . around so many capitalist and ignorant ppl dont dont know why usa is so power full .. and why all the other country around it are poor like south america. BUt i wish they build a dome and see them starve. Where the Usa would be with out poor countries to opress? get me so mad. cant wait to move out of this country

Trust me comrade, I think we have all been in situations such as these, surrounded by ignorant fools, and not really in a position to be able to speak up. My advice is to NEVER give up or give in. I would say that you should find out if there is a revolutionary leftist group in your area, the International Socialist Organization has a bunch of branches all over the U.S., you should look for one near you here: http://www.internationalsocialist.org/branches.html . Most of the time we feel weak not because we are surrounded by enemies but because we are isolated from allies, I have found that being around people who feel like me is very motivating. Also, remember, you hit the nail on the head when you said that you would wanna see what the US would do without countries to exploit. The bourgeoisie needs us, but we don't need them! That is why they fear revolution so much, they can not exist without people to exploit, but hopefully eventually we will emancipate ourselves and "get in the saddle" :).

Without countries and people to oppress, capitalism as we know it would collapse. Without cheap labor, corporations just might have to start paying the workers more, without countries to bully, we might actually have to start looking into alternatives for gasoline, without immigrants, we'd still be in Britain but some of us like to pretend we're "Natives".

And nobody wants that oh noez (sarcasm) :)

America isn't as self sufficient as it makes out. They need China otherwise their economy would collapse. As BattleOfTheCowshed and DisIllusion have pointed out - without poorer countries to take cheap primary resources from we wouldn't be able to export the finished goods at astronomical prices - we would collapse.

Its a sick and evil world we live in.

Yes America does need the poorer countries of the world to exploit, this is what these ignorant fuckers you work with have failed to realise, that the US NEED Venzuela, and they are simply starting a campaign of propaganda lies and deceit to win this resource back.

We feed them?? More like they feed us. Venezuela is responisble for 1/5 of amiercan oil and a high per centage of water supply as well.

Of course the media presents it as though the first world is just one giant charity that goes around handing out aid to the third world.

Thanks guys ill look in to that SIO. i saw a site near my town. that would help i cant wait to exchange points of view. that's Conpanero. and i would to tell u something i lived in My country 2 years ago. i went to El campo and i worked with some campesino. picking up pineapples ...(wow hard work, i thou i was gonna pass out). and i talked and i worked for 8 hours with 3 very humble guys that didn't know much about politics.

I tried to show them the difference and why they live the way they do. Then i felt so bad i cried out of anger. I can count that time i shared a tear and that was one of them. my people are being exploit selling their products for pennies and buying it back for dollars .buying it back canned. then this poor people. take the help they give them no realizing that is their own money going back to them. its a sad story that my people in Latin America are living. i want to joing a a group that is active i tired of standing around and doing notting a poem that cuban writer about che said: while i slept you walked in the jungles. well Enersto is gone now we must start our walk in the jungles of America too. hopefully we can make a change.

That free trade that the US goverment is trying to set on latin american will enslave us all. we must not let it be.

the more i learn about socialist party the more i want to fight for it. Che ounces said That the campesino has his first burning with revolutionary Fervor. Latin America don't need the sympathy of nobody we don't want free medicine or free used clothes. we don't need a help the children bull crap. WE NEED OUR FREEDOM.
