i found this site while doing homework for my art before 1450's class.....and well.....never got my homework done because i was too busy making my sling......
....i made mine the hard way with braided hemp and a canvass pocket....but heres one of the easiest ways to make one......

This is an excelent thing to do. I reccomend learning as much as you can about primitive self-suffiency skills. Throwing sticks are actully much easier to master and use if you have some camoflauge, stalking, and tracking skills.

2 words: grape shot.


Allow me to clarify, grape shot is a load of small nuts and bolts flung from a sling or catapult. Grape shot is excellent against windows that are covered with steel grates. Such windows are often found on the front of riot vans. Once air or liquids can pass through a window the possibilities are endless...

it not about truely doing anything vulgar or really creating vandalism but its one of the oldest form of competition with weaponry and i do suggest making one and learning how they work and creating something that gives you a good activity.....

.....but yeah....go make a sling....see if you can lob a rock at a tree and crack a branch off....... its hard but after about 50 throws i got the damn branch.....

....for ammo.....well.... not ballistic ammo or nuthing it just what ya call the rocks........bbut yeah......go to a stream bed....fill up a cardboard box with a shitload of the "perfect looking rocks"and then lob em....if its safe lob em at the other side of the stream or bring the box with ya and find a good place....
.....its a hella good activity to dabble with ....

you cant call them "proper".....the slings was created thousands of years ago while the wrist rocket only came around in the 1950s.....

.....but yes.....you can forgett about the handiness of wrist rockets..... you dont need full body action . and ammo can be smaller and more accurate at close range....
