Sweden's lack of red terrorists [Archive]

Why do Sweden lack people like Rote Armee Fraktion, Brigate Rosse and such stuff? Sweden is one of the few countries which doesn't host some terrorist forces (not even our Sami minority, which I am proud to descend from partially, has revolted with guns in hands ;) ) or has never hosted... hell, even Greece have had some terrorists...

I don't say that terrorists is good and that I would like some here, but I would like your opinion on why Sweden lacks terrorists when many other western countries have some.

You know about Sweden better. But politically the country is very stable, and has been since World War II. The Socialist Democratic Party? was in power up until 92? from near the end of WWII.

The country, to my knowledge, has kept good living standards for all its citizens. The nature of the climate has meant that for a long time people have lived in cooperation as the climatic conditions are somewhat difficult to live in. In this way people have not generally be endeared to terrorism.

I belive that one of the reasons to the lack of " red terrorists" in Sweden is that there are no group of people who live a under realy bad conditions...i´m not saying that everybody is doing fine, but there are no bigger group of people who is being surpressed by the governement (or other´s). And whitout a real organisation the opposition´s whoice isn´t heard..

Indeed, I don't know anyone who's in deep shit, although the Sami might be pissed off because of the 700 years of illegal taxation by three countries (Denmark-Norway, Sweden-Finland and Russia)...maybe they would like some bloody retribution!

Hey, some Swede thinks that the US will fall in 20 years! And that is scary, because he said in 1980 that the USSR would fall in 10 years, and he missed it by two months! The guy has studied this shit for all his life!

If there would be one etnik group in Sweden who would start a war against the state, the sami´s are a god bet...But if we are talking about a strikly political group (or party) i would put my monney on BSS or some other neo-faschist group. Var i Sverige bor du ? (where do you live in Sweden? )

Jag bor i Eksjö i Småland, världsmetropolen själv :) Jag är ursmålänning på fädernet, min mor kommer från Örnsköldsvik dock och hennes mormor var delvis same och delvis tornedalsfinne, så jag tillhör delvis våra minoriteter :)

Tja... BSS heter ju Sverigedemokraterna nu (hehe) men man får hoppas att de jävlarna lägger ner.

Surly one of the reasons for the lack of terrorists (besides the Swedes being such nice people) is that the taxation is so high. so that free health education etc are avalible, a much better system then the US or Australia systems.

Swedes are usually regarded as non-talkative and stiff... you know, we Swedes think of Brits as happy and social, but people in southern Europe talk about that "stiff upper lip"... so, are we really nice?-

Are terrorist groups really necessary anywhere? The only purpose they serve is to put fear into people. How successful is a country where fear is government's biggest weapon against its own people? ex. Iraq, Cuba, etc..

I didn't ask people to become terrorists, I simply asked myself (and you people) why some countries lack terrorists, like my Sweden.

Jag bor i Älvsbyn (nära piteå), har nära släktingar som är samer, och bor i kiruna komun.
Det är alltid kul att hitta svenskar som angagerar sig, något som vårat mesiga, låtsas-trevliga folk har stora problem med.
