Saddam would be accompanied by members of his family, members of the government and their families and an African country is considered as their new home, they said", adding that the proposal was first put on the table by Egypt.
German influential weekly "Der Spiegel" also reported Friday that Iraqi strongman has set four main conditions for his resignation, which includes political immunity from prosecution and complete US troop withdrawal from the Persian
Gulf region.
Quoting Arab and western diplomats, the weekly said Saddam has also demanded an end to the UN sanctions and weapons inspections in his country as well as enacting international actions to halt Israel's production of weapons of mass destruction, conditions that had been flatly rejected by Washington, according to Der Spiegel.

I wish he would just step down without conditions, then the United states would have absolutely no "reason" to attack. That is of course unless they make up yet another retarded reason to attack to get their oil, but it would atleast increase the amount of opposition.

I'm no Sadaam lover, but hell, those conditions dont' seem all too bad to me. Why should Israel be able to continue weapons of mass destructions programs when other middle eastern countries can't? I know why, because they're a US ally, but that's not how it should be. Also, US troups shouldn't be in the Middle East at all, and withdrawing them from at least the Gulf Region would be excellent in my opinion. Of course, as it has already been pointed out, the US would never agree to these really fairly reasonable conditions.

It seems to me that Saddam wants to make it easier for the Palestinians to succesfuly invade Israel. Think about it, end Israeli weapon production, remove American troops.

I understand your point, but still stand by my original opinion firmly. Sadaam certainly hates Israel and wouldn't mind the Palestinians invading and taking over Israel. However he simply wants their nuclear weapons production to stop. To my knowledge he did not ask that the countless weapons of mass destruction that they [Isreal] already possess be taken away. Also Israel still has one of the best armies in the world with or without nukes, and a Palestinian invasion would prove unsuccessful.

Right now he just wants Israel to stop producing them, but if you remember your childhood lessons, "if you give a mouse a cookie, he'll ask for a glass of milk". But still, no country should be allowed to have nuclear weapons.
And a Palestinian invasion? I suppose if you take into account all the refugees it sounds possible, but don't the Israelis and Palestinians live pretty close together, in a kind of de facto one-state? That would be like the American population invading America.

The US will not agree to anything unless it's going to be half as interesting to them as Versailles was to Woodrow Wilson.

good picture, Hampton!!
The US will never agree. The united states would loose some of their most important military bases.Damn yankees... The conditions are preety good. The idf is stronger than all the arabian armies together...a palestinian invasion would never end with a succes, with or without nukes.

The US sole condition... "Hey, Saddam, get lost and give us the oil"... everything else is just mere "playing politics".

I'm now convinced that if a war goes down, it's Bush's fault and nobody else's. The blood from American Soldiers, Iraqi Civilians, and any future Westerners who die as a results of terrorism with be on HIS HANDS!!! Does he even care? I think not...
