China arms RNA
KOL Report KATHMANDU, Nov 25 - China has delivered the first lot of military hardware to the Royal Nepalese Army (RNA), the Kantipur daily reported on Friday. The arms and weapons were brought into Nepal in 18 trucks - 12 on Tuesday and six on Wednesday - via the Kodari Highway, the daily said quoting sources. RNA officials are yet to confirm the consignment. "I don't have any information about the arms delivery," RNA spokesman Deepak Gurung said. The trucks were escorted by the Chinese People's Army up to the Nepal-Tibet border while plainclothes RNA security personnel escorted them inside Nepali territory. China pledged to provide Rs.72 million military aid to the RNA during Chief of Army Staff General Pyar Jung Thapa's visit in October. "The aid will be used to strengthen the RNA," Thapa told journalists after returning from his weeklong visit to China. In June, China had delivered military equipments that include five Armoured Personnel
Carriers to the RNA.

That only shows that they are corrupt sellouts. if they were even trying to improve people's lives they would have nothing to fear from a sucessful maoist revolution in nepal.

With all that detailed information, you'd think the Maoists would of just attacked the convoy; or maybe your centralized leadership model just has no room for initiative in the lower ranks hmm?

Right, because:
1. It's just that easy, and
2. "Decentralized" armies work great and have throughout history.

How ironic that Mao broke China's chains, and now China is fighting Maoists.
I've said this before, but I still support China against the US, Japan, and Taiwan, having talked to a friend who grew up in China and is leftist, revolutionary, and supports the government there. Still we should all be critical of how they've screwed over a lot of Mao's ideas.

This site I think is actually honest, it shows the good things China is doing and the problems it still has.

They could of attacked it when the trucks crossed the border; that's when the Chinese guards were replaced by Nepali ones.

The Chinese government sells arms to whoever can pony up the cash. They have sold arms to the ultra opressive regime in Burma as well.

Yes, because large shipments of weapons are always lightly guarded, generally by only a handful of people with fierce sharp sticks to fend off attackers. In addition to this, such operations are planned and organised by monkeys with serious mental problems and thus take much care to drive through as many valleys and other such good ambush points with no avant-guard or scouts.
Guerrilla wars take a lot of careful planning- you don't 'just attack the convoy'. Prehaps they did not have enough troops and equipment in the area by the time that this infomation was gathered, as one of the 'golden rules' of guerrilla warfare is you NEVER attack without absolute superiority in numbers, preferably at night and with the benefit of suprise. Or maybe the infomation in this article was gathered from people as they saw the trucks rolling by.

The Chinese people wouldn't just revolt because of some revolution in an adjacent and isolated country. Yes, the Chinese peasants are oppresed but they require leadership in their own country. But I'm sure the Chinese government doesn't want to take a risk.
