Anyways I am what some would call a Erwin Rommel fanatic and no im not a nazi and he wasnt either.

No, he just fought and killed for it.

How is that better?

Rommel invaded countries, annexed lands, conquered peoples, and came dangerously close to bringing all of Egpyt under Hitler's thumb. He actively and knowingly struggled to increase the size and power of the worst fascist state to ever exist.

There are few worse crimes than that.

i know what you mean when you say "I love ww2". It intrests you. Im like that too, the struggle, the people, the countries, the stories that old vets tell me just fascinate me, not to mention the greatest fighter planes and bombers ever (spitfire, mustang, etc). I know if i was living back then I would probably be flying in the royal air force. (Im 17 and a pilot.)

@LSD-Yes he fought for them but he didnt even know they were killing jews he hated politics and nazism alone and a main reason he fought was to bring Germany to its past glory he admired Hitler for constantly dis regarding the Treaty of Versailles and strenghthening german. He repeatedly dis obeyed Hitlers orders.

Yes he fought for them but he didnt even know they were killing jews

He certainly knew that they were oppressing them.

The NSDAP's antisemetism was hardly "secret". Everyone knew about the nuremburg laws and the race decrees. By 1939, Jews had virtually no rights anywhere in the country. In any region that they occupied, German Generals were ordered to identify Jews for later "evacuation".

Was Rommel "blind" to all of this? Was he seriously that stupid???

he admired Hitler for constantly dis regarding the Treaty of Versailles

How about destroying democracy and founding a fascist police state?

Did he "admire" that as well?

How about imprisoning his political enemies and declaring all leftist parties and all trade unions illegal?

Anyone who "admired" Adolf Hitler is an intractable enemy of the left. Period.

a main reason he fought was to bring Germany to its past glory

And that "past glory" would be...?

Bismarck invading France perhaps? The Kaiser invading Russia?

Germany's "glory" was militaristic imperialism.

Again, how is that a good thing?

Well he hated politics so did he like destroying democracy and founding fascist police state no. Did he approve of imprisoning these "political enemies" who knows he stered clear from politics he didnt participate in them he didnt like them.

ANd frankly he was aware of Hitler and the rest opressing jews and he wanted them to stop he evenasked Hitler to appoint several Jewish District Leaders or Heads. He wanted the jewish people to stop hating the Nazi's but f course that could never happen because they were being killed and he had no clue that was happening or that there even was concentration camps.

Well he hated politics so did he like destroying democracy and founding fascist police state no.

And yet he still fought and killed for that state. He helped to enslave the peoples of Europe under that brutal government, and gladly accepted the accolades and commendations of his "Fuhrer".

A person who cares about democracy, fights for it. A person who fights for fascism is a fascist.

ANd frankly he was aware of Hitler and the rest opressing jews and he wanted them to stop

But he didn't stop, did he?

Despite this "awareness", continued to fight in France and Belgium and North Africa, knowing full well that he was extending the power and strength of Hitler and his regime.

If he really wanted to "stop" the oppression of the Jews, why did he help deliver more Jews into Nazi hands?

The excuse of "just following orders" hasn't worked since 1945 -- and it was a shitty excuse back then.

He wanted the jewish people to stop hating the Nazi's

I'll bet he did!
