I'm listening to Spiritualized "let it come down", a Robert Johnson compilation that Scorsese put together, Woody Guthrie- "this machine kills fascists", Neil Young "On the beach", Steely Dan "katy lied", Morrissey "bona drag", The Cakekitchen "the devil and the deep blue sea".
I bought a fuckload of vinyl at bloody cheap prices recently too.
Yes "close to the edge", The Feelies, Teardrop explodes "kilimanjaro", Talking heads (cantremember which one, my mates got them at his house), Steely dan, two copies of Gaucho- a second copy of 'aja', ''countdown to ecstasy", 'the royal scam', 'greatest hits'.
Steely Dan are a band that all you kids should check out. Some of you kids won't like it at first (I didn't) but once you get into it you will be OBSESSED. Like me.
It's funk-jazz rock fusion shit that is so 70's you'll redecorate your house and buy a fuckingchevy of late 70's design. Man, Americans have/had a cool culture.
More shit all you ****s need to check it out is Gillian Welch (alt countryish but trad too) 'time is the revelator' and Uncle Tupelo (archetypal alt-country).
Uncle Tupelo's 'no depression' is good but you guys should check out the anthology.

Grindcore bands like Assuck (major leftists) and Leng T'Che. That's what I've been into for a while now, but I'm getting into the Dead Kennedys and the rest of the anarcho-punk scene that grindcore came from.
