Read this first part:
Ive collected alot of links to articles and documents about the Iraq war, and i think
I want to write an article of sorts about why we went there. I plan to discuss the offcial stated reasons, and reasons given by top officials (Bush, Cheney, Rice, Rumsfeld, Powell, etc), and demonstrate how each reason is incredibly hypocritcal. Below are a few of the reasons given at various times.

Saddam and Bin Laden have close ties.
Saddam Gassed his own people.
Saddam Has WMDs
Saddam tortures people in inhumane ways.
Etc

After I'll try to show the real reasons. Anyways, below are the links I already have on the subject. I dont have a specific reason exactly to post this here. First of all, Im not even communist/anarchist, although im pretty far left. With that said, I think some people will like these links. I would also love any links to articles, or documents with the subjects being similiar to the things listed below. I know there are much better resources out there than many of the ones I have so far. I hope this is posted in the right place.

Manipulated Intelligence

The White House Iraq Group (aka, White House Information Group or WHIG) was the marketing arm of the Republican Party whose purpose was to sell the 2003 invasion of Iraq to the public. The task force was set up in August 2002 by White House Chief of Staff Andrew Card and chaired by Karl Rove to coordinate all the executive branch elements in the run-up to the war in Iraq. One example of the WHIG's functions and influence is the "escalation of rhetoric about the danger that Iraq posed to the U.S., including the introduction of the term 'mushroom cloud'"

Before we invaded Iraq Colin Powell made a speech at the UN accusing Iraq of harboring weapons of mass destruction. He now admits this speech was a blot on his record. To be more blunt, it was all lies.

Stealing money and/or Oil From Iraqis.

US should refund Iraq for Halliburton work: UN watchdog

The United States should reimburse Iraq for $US208 million in apparent overcharges paid to a Halliburton subsidiary, an UN watchdog agency has said.

The International Advisory and Monitoring Board for the Development of Iraq conducted a special audit on Halliburton's Kellogg, Brown and Root (KBR) unit for the procurement and distribution of fuel products and the restoration of Iraq's oil infrastructure.

The monitoring board cited charges of $US208 million, costs that earlier had been questioned by US military auditors.

Torturing of detainees, etc.

Although the restrictions human rights groups and the media has on the prisons (abu ghraib, etc) these alot of evidence these stories are true.

Link between Saddam and Bin Laden?

There is no solid proof that there is any kind of link between saddam and bin laden. Bin laden has a political and religious agenda, and it is unlikely he would have any respect for a man who gases 5,000 of his own civilians for no reason. At any rate, George Bush and the US have a closer connection to Bin Laden and Hussien then they do to each. (as far as it is known, or one would expect given the facts)

When Iraq under Saddam Hussein ordered a military invasion of Kuwait in August 2, 1990, Bin Laden called for jihad against Saddam and asked the Saudi government for permission to send jihadists to protect the country and help liberate Kuwait.

Salem is Bin Laden's brother

Salem bin Laden was, through his American representative James R. Bath, an investor in Arbusto Energy, a small oil company run by George W. Bush.

The CIA funded and trained bin laden and others to fight the soviet invasion in afghanistan. (find a link)

The US supported Saddam Hussien, even while he gassed 5,000 of his own civilians. In fact the US Supported him more hafter he bombed his own people, and tried to shift the blame off of him.

NAPALM and MARK 77 FIREBOMBS in Iraq.

The American Soldiers have used basically the equivalent of napalm in Iraq. (and lied about it)

Use of incendiary bombs against civilian populations was banned in the 1980 United Nations Convention on Certain Conventional Weapons. The US has not signed this agreement although they did retire use of napalm in favor of Mk-77.

The Mark 77 is a US 750-lb (340-kg) air-dropped incendiary bomb that carries 110 gallons (415 litres) of a fuel gel mix that is the direct successor to napalm.

WHITE PHOSPHORUS in Iraq

Powerful new evidence emerged yesterday that the United States dropped massive quantities of white phosphorus on the Iraqi city of Fallujah during the attack on the city in November 2004, killing insurgents and civilians with the appalling burns that are the signature of this weapon.
