I know that a cursory examination of this subject was already posted in the Newswire, which is why I'm posting it here. This Washington Post article goes into great detail about the top secret internment camps maintained by the CIA for detention of "terrorists." It's well worth a thorough read.

The CIA has been hiding and interrogating some of its most important al Qaeda captives at a Soviet-era compound in Eastern Europe, according to U.S. and foreign officials familiar with the arrangement.

The secret facility is part of a covert prison system set up by the CIA nearly four years ago that at various times has included sites in eight countries, including Thailand, Afghanistan and several democracies in Eastern Europe, as well as a small center at the Guantanamo Bay prison in Cuba, according to current and former intelligence officials and diplomats from three continents.

Nice find brother ;)

Just goes to show the CIA's power and clout within the government, through its abillity to bypass any legaslative questioning regarding their "salt pits"

Seeing how the CIA has so much leverage and freedom around Washington, I wouldn't be surprised if any other agencies such as the Justice Department and the FBI had that same type of leverage or clout
