Hey im new here, I am a marxist, leaning towards the ideas of anton pannekeok, rosa luxembourg and the council communists, but find lenin's state and revolution a remarkable piece of literature, as my name suggests, i am for palestinian freedom, as well as irish, scottish, and where ever else imperialists have control, i hope to contribute, ive been following this forum for quite awhile and have seen people restricted for criticising israel, and i hope that doesnt happen to me.

I welcome you comrade, but I'm afraid you're bound to get restricted with such a name.. You will probably be considered antisemetic; workersunity was banned for claiming "Israel ruled the world"...
Nevertheless: "When you have given everything, you have everything to gain." ;)

Thanks for the welcome, he got banned for claiming Israel ruled the world?. I do note the significance the importance of israel in the world, but i believe that the US has the ultimate say in that policy. Thats too bad a fellow comrade got restricted for saying that. did anyone constructivley debate with him about it?.

Stating that 'Israel rules the world' impies they are superior to all others - fascist! If he wasn't joking, you can't have a constructive debate! If he was then thats different.

Anyway, Greetings!

For the record, workersunity was not banned, he was restricted for claiming that "Israel does rule the world", a position so obviously illogical that it could only be derived from "Jewish conspiracy" nonsense.

Furthermore, his restriction might have easily been reversed had he just been willing to admit the fallacy and implicit antisemetism of his statement. His refusal to do so ensured that, for the time being anyways, he remain in OI.

I think it's unacceptable that someone can get banned just for saying something stupid. I mean its not like he was out to persecute jews or anything. It's a stupid statement id disagree with, but its quite clear that workers unity is a socialist who is not a racist.

I still fail to understand how stating that "Israel rules the world" can be defined as "anti-semitism", even though I disagree with the statement itself.

It is a very loose connection to make.

You're right, I'm sorry.

Absolutely.

that it could only be derived from "Jewish conspiracy" nonsense.
I must disagree, I don't think he actually believed/believes that "the Jews" are planning to take over the world, he merely suggested a strong link between the American military actions and the possible profit Israel would make from those actions, illogical as that way of thinking may be.

Furthermore, his restriction might have easily been reversed had he just been willing to admit the fallacy and implicit antisemetism of his statement.
Of course, but obviously that requires him to realize his fallacy, which could have been done by a constructive debate, although we must admit workersunity didn't help a lot to that either.

Furthermore, I only wish to repeat my view that critisizing Israel doesn't mean critisizing all jews. I am also against Israel, like I am against any state based upon a religion (like some would like Palestina to be)

from just hearing this tidbit, it looks like the left community, has their panties in bunches over nothing really. By just saying that Israel controls the world, in NO way implies anti-semitism, i fail to see the connection. Even though it is an abrupt statement, and could offend many people, he must have had reasons for it. I do believe Israel has a lot of power in the world, but believe that the US is ultimately in control. and now since i say the US controls the world. why am i not classified as an anti-american, or discriminatory against americans???? It seems that just because israel has a quite large jewish population doesnt mean that when israel is brought up, its anti-semitic, thats where logic has been abandoned.

Free the Scots Indeed!

In fact, workersunity, you were not restricted ror any such thing. A lot more people, including me, would be restricted if that was the policy!

You were restricted for their views on the world, not Palestine.

Promoting conspiracy theories which dovetail with fascist ideology, to be specific.

And I really gotta wonder why you'd start out with such a statement. I mean, if I was trying to sneak through a sock puppet, I wouldn't even mention my original account or whatever subject got me banned or restricted. But then again, workersunity, if you were inclined to think you wouldn't have gotten restricted in the first place.
