Monty suggested this and I think it's good idea.

If you find e-texts of books you feel may interest other people, post the link to them here.

Also, http://www.gutenberg.org has a ton of ebooks as well, all transcribed by volunteers.

WHat a great thread to start, I hope more links would be added particularly on contemporary literature.

That book is pretty rare. Well, very rare. As you can see, I am having to host it myself.

I have one request for people reading it: keep its age in mind, as some bits will be outdated.

http://www.george-orwell.org/

Contains all of Orwell's works for free.

Not sure if this is completely relevant, but just thought I would add it anyway.

It is very relevant, thanks for the link. I think people can only learn from reading Orwell.

Here's a list of "great books" available online.

While the canonical nature of the collection annoys the shit out of me (virtually all old dead white males...) it stil has useful stuff on it, and it has Ibsen, which makes me happy.

Great Books Index (http://books.mirror.org/)

Hopefully will have more soon. :)

EDIT:
This is an archive of full-text journals and papers from the anti-apartheid struggle in South Africa.
