That is correct, George W. Bush has lost his plight to tap into the International Wildlife Refuge in Alaska, where large populations of Caribou use the land for migration and natural habitat

It turns out the 20 of the republicans sided with the Democrats to overturn the drilling plans, this is wonderful news for naturalists and environmentalists all over the world!

I was glad to hear this. However, I did read that Bush said he was still going to try to keep pushing it in the future. He, and people like him, won't be satisfied until every drop of oil is taken from this earth. I feel like we're only prolonging the inevitable.

Yes!! It is impossible to justify the destruction of such a landscape for any reason - even if we were all dying (oil wouldn't help anyway - unless you drank it...can't be good for you) It's not the end though, Alaska is melting away - the natives who were so brutally exterminated in the Plains are left without a food source (whales aren't there + they can't hunt seal because there is no ice) Polar Bears are starving and then being shot because they are raiding settlements (what do you expect!?!)
