The French and Iraq Oil Connection

ONE reason why the French may be against the war is because they have a deal w/iraq the momement the sanctions are lifted they can start deals on all that oil. I am against the war but what the hell are they thinking!

Russia is against war for strategic reasons. Iraq has always been a big oil supplier for Russia. Russia is now digging out his oil and tries to conquer the Western and the American market, they can't compete with cheap Iraqi oil. And (air) bases in Iraq can reach to Russia very fast, especially nucleair bases.

then what about the french? are they agaisnt the war for economic relations it could have with the current Iraq regeim or is it for other reasons

i believe the french have many industrial and commercial contrats with iraq that have been around for a long time and a disruption in the regime in iraq would seriously threaten these contract
