I'm right now in Guatemala and would like to continue my backpacking from here by visiting the same places as Che went to during his travelling in Central America.

I know he spent alot of time in Guatemala but also El Salvador (?) and Honduras. And a number of other countries. What cities and ruins did he visit?

I know all this can be found in his diaries, which I'm reading right now, but I would like to get hold of a summary of the places, as I won't have time to read through all his diaries before I continue travelling here.

Thanks alot!

I was asking for Central America not South America. After the trip you mentioned he went up to Panama, El Salvador and Guatemala.. and possibly also several other countries in Central America. I would like to know which ones, and if possible also what cities and ruins in those countries that he went too. Of special interest is Guatemala, where I know he spent at least a month before he had to search asyle in Mexico.

He went to Lago Atitlan in Guatemala. I went there when I was in Guatemala, it is a beautiful place, however they recently had some really bad mud slides there, so I don't know what the accesibility of Atitlan is right now. You could probaly find out though.

Already been there, do you know what towns he visited close to Lago Atitlan?

What was he doing in Guatemala City, for how long and in what parts of town?

Anywhere else in Guatemala except Atitlan and G City?

Yo Chris

Im glad ur visiting Guatemala, Im sure you'll like the country and its people
Im from Guatemala myself, born in Guatemala city but now I live in Southern California

But basically, I know Che traveled to Lake Atitlan and he spent alot of time in Guatemala City, but aside from that - Im not to sure where else Che traveled to

Lake Atitlan is beautiful, but like Guerilla22 said, the recent hurricane that swept through messed the whole place up
My grandfather was in Guatemala recently, and he said that many places had been closed down due to the severity of the hurricane

If I may, I'd like to offer my suggestions on some places you'll enjoy:

-Antigua is a beautiful colonial town, with great food and beautiful scenery
-Panajachel near Lake Atitlan is beautiful, coming into the town therez this small waterfall thats amazing
-El Peten is a beautiful place, with lots of Mayan ruins (including the jaguar temple)
-Rio Dulce is an incredibly beautiful paradise
-Quetzaltenango is an amazing and beautiful town

Well, have fun bro
Its a great place to visit, and if you need any info, PM me or post
Catch ya later and have fun ;)
