What did he mean when he said "I am nothing and should be everything"?

Short anwer: [Shruggs shoulders].

I'm not familiar with that quote. What was it written in and what's the context?

The quote is out of context, he wrote those words as a personification of a class sentiment. I.e. the call “I am nothing and should be everything" was the call of the proletarian which echoes the call of the third estate in their revolutionary stages of consciousness. He wasn’t writing about himself as an individual.

^LOL thanx.
My friend was wearing a shirt that says it. We thought it was funny but had no clue what the heck it means.
