So, hello to everyone. Just found this site and am happy I did.

My main interests are not the theoretical stuff about communism, but the practical.

I support a society not motivated by profit, and an equal "pay" for all who work.

I believe in the concept of a work hour, recorded by one who performs work for the benefit of others, and this work hour as a medium of exchange. If you're a doctor or a janitor, you earn your work hour. While you trained to be a doctor, you earned your WH. While you trained to be a janitor, you earned your WH.

One more thing about this WH thing: It has to be an approved type of work to receive a WH. I mean, design fashion and build monuments out of bottle caps for all I care, but if it's not approved by society, no WH for your pet projects.

I don't believe in changing the freedoms of, let's say, the first amendment, and believe religious nuts are NUTS. But what I believe in is that if profit were removed one would have a clearer view of life and act a whole lot differently.

Do I believe that profit can only be removed by revolution. Well, probably. I can't see it happening without some type of revolution. Maybe there would be a "revolution" of the mind, that would free everyone and there would then be a non-profit society through regular democracy. But I don't think that will happen. I think people will have to take to the streets and force out those in power.

I like to ski and sail. I also like to go dancing and dance to 80's music.

I don't know what particular place at this site that I'll hang out at.

We'll see.

Skiing and sailing are amusements of the rich unless you live right next to a Mountain and the sea or you have a relative who is a fisherman

Josh, you again!?! Didn't you find a Right Wing Religious Nut Site yet? For a good religious site, try www.madeupshit.com.

Skiing:
There's no reason why skiing must be profit motivated. Everyone enjoys skiing. Why should it stand to reason socialists wouldn't enjoy skiing?

If you like making skies, make them. If society deems them beneficial and if your skies properly function, make them and get "paid" by society. Skiing brings a healthy body and is fun. I don't know much about socialism and am new to this, but I don't think we lefties are against fun.

Again, don't let the cappies define what can be done merely because there's no beer commercial attached to the activity.

Sailing! Sailing is older than any organized economic system. I thought everyone knew that. It's about 6,000 years old. Again, you're letting your commericalized views of America define your thought patterns.

Making boats will always be a beneficial activity for any society. And who elected you "God" (you're so interested in religion) to decide that people should only recreate on dry land?

Sailing is not capitalistic. It just is. Does that make sense to you?

Josh, are you pushing buttons or are you real?

Only people who can afford to take skiing holidays are upper class

Welcome aboard brother!

Oh BTW, although the affluent and elite ski and sail, doesn't mean that skiing and sailing are evil and u shouldn't be able to enjoy both

It would be like saying: basketball is evil because the lucrative contracts and expensive equipment in the NBA are detrimental to the socialist cause

They're a variety of stigmas placed on sports
Despite the fact that sailing and skiing are sports of the rich, doesn't mean that none
But the most important thing about it, is that u don't get caught up in the life and lies of cappies
But that u fight against those that sail and ski with the profits they exploited from the workers and poor

Sports aren't bad if u engage them solely for their enjoyment and exercise, but stay away from the whole cappie lifestyle

Well,

I live in the real world and don't hide in a ditch while our society is the way it is. I hope my fellow "fighters for socialsim" don't die in their beds not enjoying many things life has to offer because we currently have a society with money and profit.

First of all, skiing is only a sport for the rich if you want it to be. There are PLENTY of hostel like ski living situations with a common bathroom area. I couldn't afford the Ritz Carlton lifestyle anyway. Lift tickets are expensive, but my beliefs (read above) argue that socialism be founded with a great deal of personal choice, not people being dictated to by ANYONE.

THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A RICH SPORT!!! There is just sport. STOP LETTING THE CAPPIES DEFINE EVERYTHING.

I know, there are commercials that say you can only do X if you got $15 million in the bank. Don't believe it. Don't be small minded.

Sailing is currently different. There is no way to sail today without some "cappie type" conduct. But under socialism, that could be changed. In fact, it could be better. A lot more people could sail if there was a socialist lifestyle. And remember, the vast majority of people in the world who sail are poor. They do it assoaciated with their living and travel. Again, don't let the cappie commercials tell you what life should look like.

Bullshit, I sail at a place called the bstc (berkshire sail training centre) it's a charity and partly funded by the local government. I could never afford my own boat, so I sail at the centre.
