For our Comrades who believe that in the future there will be a Leftist revolution in the West, I have a question. Is it not only possible to successfully take control of a state and to continue in power without severely oppressing the population if the majority of people in that country are supportive of the new regime?

Yes - but it depends on what regime is instated. If it was a Communist Democracy of some sort then I guess so. If it was a Stalinist, authoritarian regime then no. Hello David, by the way.

No, the state is the mechanism that keeps the oppression. It doesn't matter what title you give it. Its the form, and its hierarchical structure.

I guess this is where the gap between Communists and Anarchists comes in. Is a hierachical goverment needed to "impose" successful communism? Perhaps it could go 3 ways-

- Anarchy. No leaders. People work in collaboration to run a productive society.
- Democracy. Seems like a good idea, but personally, looking at the US and UK, democracy seems to quickly become a farse, just dictatorship with a better image.
- Dictatorship.

Please feel free to correct anything which I seem to mis-understand.

If there ever was a Revolution it would not just be Americans. It would have to have support from other countries that are against the imperalistic nation.

Although I would be some what against a dictatorship, I could see it happening sort of.

I would like to see a "group" run the nation (no one has major power, but this "group" is a selective people.). Some what of a tricky thing with a lot of explenation to it.
