The SoU was a crock - the end was just constant babble on how the US is right, always right, and the chosen state of god to grace the world with some form of divine justice.

He actually addressed issues initially, but like half-way through it just became redundant.

To sum it up, however, he's basically said he's going to do some things to appease the populus to gain support for for a war which realistically is unjustifiable.

Unfortunately appeasing the populus in his mind, is more cheerleading and deception. The whole purpose of his speech last nite was to gather his "flock" in close to him again. They need to get the anti-war thing under control cause they're starting to look bad and dropping in popularity in every recent poll.

Funny he didn't mention the "No child left behind act". No one mentions that he gutted billions out of that. Or that his precious Homeland Security Department lost 1 billion, or that the economy sucks, jobless rate is up, etc, etc, etc..

He wants to privatize Medicare, forcing elderly to join HMO's, resulting in them spending more for healthcare, prescriptions.

The guy is a fucking joke.

my favourite part of the speech was when he was talking about the good things the US would bring to Iraq... "[...]we will bring them democracy, and we will bring them ... [ dramatic pause ] freedom!".

The expression on his face looked like his deeply felt altruism was about to make himself cry.
He's such a bad actor. His acting skills are probably worse than those of Ronald Reagan.

I have only one question for you all... Why is it wrong and bad to go to war with IRAQ to remove saddam hussain? Did you know that he had been in Jail for Stabing his Brother in Law? IRAQ has 70% unemployment and many iraqies live in powerty when Iraq has such rich oil suplies. The man is funding the national terorism by giving 25 thousand checks to families of suicide bombers

I think that all of us would agree if I said that we don't support Saddam, but I believe that removal of him will do more bad than good.

And why is there so much unemployment in Iraq?

Because their factories have no income or tradingpartners, because of the US sanctions. They can produce as much as they want, but afteral you need clients to make profit and pay your workers.

This is in response to JAHA's statement about Bush helping Africans dying from AIDS. He already is lying about that. He won't do shit. First, to help the best thing he could do is to promote contraception over there, rather than his abstinence crap. Of course he won't do it, he doesn't even do it here. Remember- he has asked a bunch of conservatives to test if condoms work after asking the CDC to pull down one of its pages on their site which mentioned that to effectively protect yourself you should always use a condom correctly. Second, money is another issue. Drug companies are having a big hissy fit because they have been asked to offer generic AIDS meds to the Africans. They don't want to do it because they will lose money. If those dying from AIDS related diseases in the US cant even help themselves, we can expect less from those in Africa.
