Dear Comrades,

We turn to you in the name of the Central Committee of the Communist Party
of Israel to employ your political influence in order to put pressure on
your governments to do everything possible to prevent the war planned by
U.S. imperialism against Iraq, and to bring about a political solution of
the crisis.

Since your governments are represented as permanent members of the U.N.
Security Council, they have the power to block the U.S. initiative, which
seeks to impose a decision on the UN bodies to go to war against Iraq.

We, therefore, call on you to request your governments to use their veto
power in the Security Council in order to prevent this war for oil,which
will be a disaster for the people of Iraq and the peoples of the entire
region.
