dont really undertand what you two words are ment to mean or what context they're to be takin in....but i am also a massive fan of mr.kurt cobaim, he really did tounch the lives of many, his music, the lyics to his song really touch apart of me i didnt know exsisted, stirring up feeling and emotion i didnt know where there...does it not annoy you so much when you hear little kids who have only just discovered the legand that is kurt, but but once you hear them talk you realise they nithing about nirvana works, where they come from, what their music is all about, and they are simply following the crowd, whating to accomplish the retro look, do the whole avril lavine thing, i hate the word scene that has made real music popular simply becuse thats the latest trend to follow....

His lyrics are boring, his music is simplistic over rated. Not that Nirvana were bad, they just weren't nearly as good as is made out.
The only reason they became so popular was because of how tame everything else (in mainstream rock) had become.
I think that they are one of these bands who are a phase. When kids are young they usually listen to mainstream pop music, as they get a little older their musical tastes branch out and they listen to more adventurous stuff. That is where your Nirvana and Greendays come in, after that you start listening to other less accessable bands within what ever genre or style you start getting into. But don't get me wrong, I don't dislike Nirvana or Greenday, I really like Greenday and I probably always will, I have seen them live a couple of times and if I could get the chanse again, I would take it. But I don't like them nearly as much as I used to, when I was 14 or so. You just grow out of that kind of band. Nirvana are exactly the same.

Yeah, I was 13 when they hit and it was one of the first rock bands I liked (I bought some Michael Jackson tapes before that).
I hated (still dislike) much of rock music at the time and as I got more into nirvana and their other album came out it introduced me to Punk music and showed that you don't have to be macho and anti-woman and anti-gay to be into rock music.
Other than punk bands, Nivana is still one of the few rock bands I can stand to listen to.

Underneath the bridge
The tarp has sprung a leak
And the animals I've trapped
Have all become my pets
And I'm living off of grass
And the drippings from the ceiling
But it's ok to eat fish
Cause they haven't any feelings
Something in the way
Something in the way, yea
Something in the way
Something in the way, yea
Something in the way
Something in the way, yea

I like a lot of music.
I really like indie rock, from the Smiths right through to a large number of unsigned acts such as the Powders or Sans Trauma (both of which you can download tracks by for free and legal). I also like a lot of hard rock and metal, I have a lot of smashing pumpkins, pearl jam, Symphony X, that sort of stuff. I am really into Tool, a great band, I'm just waiting for the new album and the tour!
I would say that my favourate band, if I have to pick one, are the Manic Street Preachers.

I've seen Greenday live, I wasn't impressed and Nirvana they're good but you get all these sheepy emo's wanting to commit suicide alll the time and just want to get drunk and have sex because it's rock and roooll and they're sheep....
Tool are good! Dreamtheater are okay...
Floyd.
