according to unconfirmed results published by the Second Channel in Israel, Ariel Sharon will continue as prime minister of Israel. here are the results so far:

Likud (Sharon's party) - 32 seats
Labour - 19
Shinui (middle class party) - 17
National Union (extreme right) - 10
Shas (sephardic orthodox) - 9
Meretz (far left) - 7
Mafdal (conservative) - 5
Yehadut Hatorah (ashkenaz orthodox) - 5
HADASH (communist) - 4
BALAD (arab) - 3
RA'AM (arab) - 3
Am Echad (workers) - 3

two others parties that are not yet certain if they will have seats in the future knesset are Ale Yarok (weird party...) and Herut (judeo-nazi, or extreme right as they call themselves).

Just out of curiosity, what are the differences between the parties that seem to represent similar ideologies but have different names? (Labour and Am Echad, BALAD and RA'AM, HADASH and Meretz, National Union and Herut)

Wouldn't a Judeo-Nazi just be a fascist? I mean, it can be quite hard to be a Jew and a Nazi simultaneously, right?

Sharon IS a judeo-Nazi. He admitted it off camara to one of his right-wing, zionist cronies. That's why Im always going on about zionists being hypocrites and using political correctness to pursue their fascism.

briefly... Am Echad is an opportunist party that doesn't really represent anything, while labour is an old party with roots... am echad is just the fellows who thought it would be easier to run by themselves...

i don't really know the different between BALAD and RAAM... i think that the latter is more extreme and nationalist...

Meretz is a zionist party, while HADASH is socialist. besides, HADASH is more of an arab party, although they support jewish-arab partnership, and always have at least one jewish representative.

the national union supports deporting all the palestinians to jordan as a part of a peace treaty (peace, yeah right...), while herut supports locking the palestinians in small ghettos while depriving them of any civil liberties and human rights.

What does that remind us of?

that is why i refered to them as "judeo-nazis", which is a term first used by prof. leibowitz.

I suspect that the reason that the righties won is becuase sharon is using the people to supoort Bush's war on rag, as the israelis know they will no doubt be gaining financially from the oil there.

I can't understand that...Most Israelis want peace..accordingto recent surveys a majority is for an independent palestinian state and for the evacuation of the settlemets.(which are indeed, almost hilarious. 20000 Soldiers protect 6000 israeli psychopat settlers in the gaza strip, for instance)
But for whom do they vote?SHARON!!!
Israel is in one of the worst economical crisis it has ever had, more than 10% are unemployed, more than 20% live in poverty....And they vote for arik again!!!!
Whats going on there? Are they nuts?
