There have been many discussions pertaining to the imminent introduction of ID cards and a national database of the UK population. I merely wish to draw attention to the movement attempting to block these and to provide legal aid for those of us brave enough to actually stand up and say "no" to our government.
I beseech you, anyone who opposes this scheme that we are running out of time. Please register your pledge to refuse to take an ID card and the baggage that will come with it

So far over 11,000 people in the UK have pledged £10 towards a legal defense fund to protect themselves and their comrades when the laws come into effect and they refuse to get a card and be registered on the database. Many others have pledged to "resist" this and have donated £20 to the cause. Join us!
Only the House of Lords stands between this coming into effect. If you can't donate, please try and write to a peer or something.
Politics of the situation aside, we've been here before and decided it was the WRONG thing to do:
Indeed, when he ruled against the continued issuing of the cards in 1952, Lord Chief Justice Goddard said that with the nation no longer facing a military threat, ID checks were actually hindering the work of the police.
'In this country, we have always prided ourselves on the good feeling that exists between the police and the public, and such action tends to make the public resentful of the acts of the police and inclines them to obstruct them rather than assist them.'
-Lord Chief Justice Goddard, 1952
Whilst this sentiment may not be true anymore, I'm sure you can appreciate it's pertinance. Hopefully, I won't be seeing you at the Old Bailey when we object to this atrocious bill.
