The communists got 22% in my city!!the votes aren't completely counted, but one thing is for sure: The comunists won a lot!
The newest numbers:
ÖVP(conservative):36%
SPÖ(pseudo-socialists):27%
KPÖ(n explenation needed):22%
The greens:8%
FPÖ(our famous right wing chaos party):7%
Thats the best result the communistic party ever achieved in austria.

When the left wing party's grow. The right wingers often unite in one party, could be that there aren't a lot of conservatives, but that they want to form a strong blcok against leftism.

exactly that happens in everywhere in austria at the moment.
some details:
ÖVP: around +12%
SPÖ: -5% or so
KPÖ: +13,xx(yeahh)(Kommunistische Partei Österreichs)
greens.+2,xx
FPÖ:-18%
but thats excellent that the Left has power in your country
they have power in my town, or better in austria's towns. The countryside is extremely conservative, you would call them hardcore rednecks.

i hope this comment wasnt ment serious...besides the fact that this would be impossible in such an old fashioned state like austria, it would'nt be very democratic. The communists tried it in 1950, but the "revolution" failed because almost everone(even the socialist) were against it.

Hmmm... its good to see that Communists in Austria are making an effort which is more than we can say about 'communists parties' in the United States. In actuallity a communist party cannot claim a victory in an election in which they maintain the current political state machinery as this would taint the communist movement into social petti bourgeoisie... Tell us more about your communist party; do they aim to smash the state machinery and establish the dictatorship of the proletariat? If not then what difference does it make if they do win? The only differences would be expensive bourgeoisie liberalism.
in reguards to 'diversity'.. isnt diversity clearly what we are standing against to put an end to the class struggle? as long as we have diversity we will have the bourgeoisie and oppression... Take the fight to the next level.. we do not need diversity.. we need the proletariat.

If only that could happen here in the U.S :(
But nay.
The bourgeoisie will never let something like that happen here

Ofcourse, this victory does not mean that tere will be a communistic reign in Graz, my town, or even in austria. But for instance, now we can be sure that the public transport system, and the energy supply of graz will not be privatized. And that the city of graz will pay more for the renovation of old buildings where the ppl can't affrd it own their own.
