nine inch nails is trent reznor, and he collaborates with various musicians on different songs/albums to create 'nine inch nails'. im listening to the super mario mix of closer now.

They are okay. But more on the pop-industrial side.

Check out stuff like KMFDM, Ministry, :wumpscut:, etc.

And BTW, anybody know anything about the new Rammstein album? I didn't even know they was one until I started hearing songs of thier's on the radio I hadn't heard before.

I'm a big rammstein fine, do any of the aussies know if they're gonna be at the big day out? Twas a rumour, but nothing has been announced so far...

MDFMK were created out of the break up of KMFDM around 1997. They did this to get out of a record deal. They recorded one album under this name, next proceeded to get back together as KMFDM.

MDFMK = KMFDM backwards.

I love KMFDM and Rammstein, any suggestions for more bands like KMFDM?

I loved "Risen" by KMFDM.

I Love Rammstein it's the only metal band I can stand. I normally hate metal but Rammstein give me the goose bumps when they play...it's amazing.

The new Rammstein album is called rosenrot.... I think, apparently it has some good stuff on it.

I love Rammstein, they're one of my favorite bands...I prefer their older stuff like on Mutter and Herzeleid. Reise Reise was good but I dunno...I didn't like it all that much personally....

I want Rosenrot though...

Hehe, I now have Rosenrot, It's worth getting, legally or illegally.
Not that I condone illegal acts.

That's decent what would you rate the album if you had to rate it out of 10?
Got any favorite songs on it so far?

The only song I like from RAMNSTEIN is "DUS RIECHST SO GUST", and that's because the video is great. I don't like Nine Inch Nails, however they'r are progressive politically speaking..I voted NONE of them

I  both of them actually. Rammstein are my favourite band of the moment; and I can't wait for Rosenrot to be released in this slow, slow country... (I've heard previews and they were great, and Till sings in Spanish! :P )I want them to tour! Richard mentioned coming to the BDO this year, but the Sydney one is sold out already. :( I hate those stupid Franz Ferdinand-types for buying all the tickets.

NIN I used to REALLY like, then somehow I forgot about them, and recently I realised that I still love them and need to get hold of their back catalogue... You know, I just had an idea that may or may not work... Trent Reznor working with Matt Bellamy. Genius loves company and all...

I adore NIN. I dont listen to music for politics as much as I do the expression of emotion, and that is what Trent Reznor does best.

I'd rate Rosenrot at about 8-9 out of 10, Rammstein obviously used this album to experiment and try out new things, like long grungy riffs (something which they've never done before), breaks and other techniques.
I loved the track, "Te Quiero Puta", simply because a guy singing in spanish with a german accent has hillarious results.
Overall my favourite track has to be "Hilf mir" because I like the riff in it.

**edit** Reason: My grammar sucks sometimes.

Decent.

I'll have to order it, a Rammstein CD in my country is really rare and most likely would be sold out. :(

The album art looks really great though...I wounder why they have a mashed up abandoned ship on the front though.

i like both

ive seen nine inch nails twice, this year at brixton and the astoria, i would love to have seen them with original drummer Chris Vrenna hes fucking awesome or at least see Danny Lohner, Jerome Dillon cant really play much of the downward spiral and piggy was really fucking dissapointing
i really want to see rammstein, i havent really had the chance, people are always busy, i dont wanna go to a gig on my own

KMFDM are bloody awesome, check out Skinny Puppy, they are much darker but still heavy, also quite in touch with dance music

I've been a die-hard Rammstein fan for years. Can sing all of the songs and know what they're singing about (can't even speak German). "Reise, Reise" wasn't as good as their others however. Can't wait to hear their latest efforts though.

I haven't heard any song by Nine inch nails yet. Are they any good? But speaking of Rammstein,,,they are so damn good. I love their songs and beats...and you gotta check out their latest album "rosenrot". It's got cool songs. Benzine is my personal favourite one. I loved the video clip too. It's so creative.

NIN: amazing. I only have With teeth and a few mp3s, but I hope to get the downwards spiral today, with a lot of luck.

Rammstein: i used to be a die-hard fan of 'em, not so much these days. they still rock. I can't wait to lay my claws on Rosenrot.

KMFDM: great band, unfortunately they do have quite a few albums which have only one or two songs which are any good.

Great albums by them: Xtort, what do you know deutschland?, don't blow your top, WWIII. (they're very political, anarchists.)

I am not a huge nine inch fan but i still voted "i like both' because they do have a few good songs. As for Rammstien, they fucking rock, and the new album is definatly worth picking up illegaly.

They both kick ass. Sometimes they're not hard enough for me though.

Some other cool metal is Papa Roach (check out the murder link in my sig), Breaking Benjamin, Sevendust, Slipknot, As I Lay Dying, Trapt, Trust Company, Marilyn Manson, Rob Zombie, Godsmack, and a lot of other good shit.

trust company?!?
i brought one of thier albums, cant remember what it was called. I took it back because it had some good bits in it, but for the most part i found it to be formulaic nu-metal, and they did not seem to good instrumentally.
do have many albums cause i want to listen to them again, and i think ive only heard the debut.
plus everyone check out mesuggah! doit..doit now!

I'm a massive Rammstein fan. Even though they are not communists, they get me into the fascist hating mood. I hate it when my friends call them Nazi's since they are not and hate Hitler with a fiery passion. They're not too political but the main reason I like them is the techno elements they have and the fire included in the shows!

Because all the music you listen to must be performed by communists or you will be purged <_<

Your friends are idiots if they think Rammstein are nazis.

Seriously, WTF?

I like both, but Im more of a NIN fan myself! However Im a bit dissapointed by the latest Rammstein album, I dont know...I expected more...

Te Quiero Puta dissapointed me too...I had such high expectations of it...and then I hear the drum riff from Marilyn Manson's Cake and Sodomy :(

I think it would be really interesing to see Trent Reznor work together with Rammstein, maybe remixing each other's songs or something!

Rammstien are pretty damn good, but i wouildent say they werre leftist music are they? they are apprently racist. and apparantly have some racist lyrics too. and they are apprantly facists

RebelOutcast
30th December 2005, 11:25
I've never found anything in their lyrics that could be called racist, and I've never heard that they are racist, they're patriots, if that's what you mean, but being a patriot is not racist, or fascist.
There seems to be a lot of gossip and hearsay on the internet about rammstein being racist and/or facist, but I've never seen it backed up.

YEa that is why i said 'apparantly'. Only thing i've read which is very mild and may not of even been meant in a racist way was When the signer was on about being in prison he said 'yea i was in a cell with this really big black guy and in couldent see him when it was dark'

Hmm I dont know if he really said that, but I'll take your word from it...but even so why would that be racist, you might not be able to see the dark skin when its really dark. Bla political correctness has really weakened people down!

Back to topic:

I just bought NIN's The Downwards Spiral, great stuff.

As for KMFDM, they're pretty good but most of their albums are crap, with only a few songs on each. My fave KMFDM albums are.... WWIII, What Do You Know Deutschland? XTORT!!!! and Don't Blow Your Top. rest is meh.

I can't get tired of KMFDM!

The New American Century, some other song I can't remember the name with the lyrics "...the rockets red glare...we all proudly salute or something or other" and Risen are far the best tracks they have.
