alright, i find that favorite soundtracks are generally pretty congruous to favorite movies. i'd have to say my all-time favorite soundtrack is that of "natural born killers." it's almost as good as watching the movie. not only are the artists and their tracks badass, but it has dialogue from the movie. something i adore.
show and tell time.

I liked the soundtrack to Léon: The Professional (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0110413/), which is "the shape of my heart" by Sting.

"THe Harder they come" from the movie of the same name. Anyone seen/heard it. I'm not really a fan of ska/regge, but that early stuff sounds like soul music with a regge beat - fantastic!

Donnie Darko had a pretty ace soundtrack (Mad World, Killing Moon, Under The Milky Way and Love Will Tear Us Apart all untouchable classics). Apart from that I don't tend to really look into soundtracks and I don't own any. I don't even have the Donnie Darko Soundtrack.

Everyone has the right to think this is stupid but what initially made me go from liking Joanna Newsom to buying her was that one of her songs reminded me of My Own Private Idaho.
Other than that yeah it's Natural Born Killers (one of the only albums I've bought twice) and then maybe Airheads or Wayne's World.
Yeah I know it's pretty lame.
I wish I could remember the name of a beautiful asian film I saw about 5-6 years ago where there's a scene in a club and Radiohead's 'Creep' is playing, there were also moment when the lead character or one of them went off on tangents reciting beautiful Haikus. Does anyone know the film I'm on about and what it's called? Sorry if I'm vague.

My favorite movie soundtracks are:
1) Ghost dog : way of the samurai (Japanese release album) - all done by the RZA with the original “gritty” Wu tang sound , need I say more?

Requiem For a Dream has a simply awesome soundtrack. It's very haunting and gets stuck in your head very easily (which is a good thing, as it's awesome...unlike those bastard pop songs that squat in your mind). In addition, it goes very well with the movie itself.
