What if Palistine were freed. Now this may sound ignorant but what about the middle class Islaeli who won't have enough money to just take-root anywhere else? And hasn't lived anywhere but Palestine in his life.
I'll admit that I CAN be a bit of a bleeding heart.

The average Israeli is about ten times as rich as the average Palestinian, they would have a much easier time than the Palestinians who have no choice but to live in squalid refugee camps when they are driven from their homes.

You might be right. And believe me, I'm po-palestinian, but you would have to agree the chances of survival are ulikely if you're a member of the proletariat in an industrialised society having to adapt to an almost feudal society. Now I've never been there, but you can't convince me that there isn't some sort of working class Israeli.

You're quite right, there are many segments of Israeli society that are worse off than others. The first that come to mind are the Ethiopian and Russian immigrants who are used as cannon fodder on the front lines of the conflict. Many of the soldiers I encountered in the West Bank spoke broken Hebrew or no Hebrew, and were either black or east-european in origin.
When they're finished with their military service, if they survive that is, they usually end up in menial labour, especially now that the Palestinians are no longer free to travel to their menial jobs in Israel.
So, yeah, it would be terrible for a lot of people and it's actually a very interesting topic for debate. I'm not sure I've ever really considered the issue at length before, so thank you for raising it.
However, I still support a free Palestine for the sake of justice, historical example, and to alleviate the long suffering of the occupied people there.

the intifada has done nothing but hurt the working class on both sides. the palestinians are suffering from 80% of unemployment, lack of food and and lack of medications. the israelis are suffering from 13% unemployment, skyrocketing taxes and very low wages.
the only solution is dividing the land between the israelis and the palestinians, based on the november 4th 1967 border. the refugees, with israeli and international aid, must be resettled in the palestinian state, or in a third state of their choice.

no thats not the solution and that solution is not fair for both sides...thats racist and wrong..remember it was our land before it was theirs. if it is to be devided than it should be devided by the 1947 UN partition which give the Palestinians almost 50%...thats the only ALMOST fair way...even then we dont get a right of return, the land thats fertile and by the sea is not ours, the dead sea is gone...but at least we get our land...and a right to an army to defend ourselves against those monsters! and im sorry redcanada, but those israelis should have thought about that before steeling our and..thy should have stayed where they belonged in russia or germany or whatever...and anyway they have a right of return from austria, germany, and russia and the US woud welcome them with open arms so i dont see where their disadvantage is?? you want to look at unfair look at the refugees who have been slaughtered and thrown out of their homes..the refugees without medical care or food...the refugees seeking an identity, forget wealth, the refugees who have been ignored and erased for 50 years...on which foot do they start on? without a passport, without a land, without a home to call their own...ask them what the poor israelis should so when palestine is returned to its rightful owners...these people have very benefit in the world..all the hatred toward us terrorist and all the support to the poor victems of israel..they will find help.. unless ofcourse they steel someone elses land..thats different

The palestinians and israelis cant co-exist so, i think, should migrate to different locations(given by the US... thus i mean US-land, not a conquered country previously run by an dictator... like ariel sharon, btw).
The only people for who it is relatively easy to migrate(some do) are those of Isreal.

the dumbest thing aqbout this conflict is that the israeli has been hunted and killed for so long time... and still they don't learn and put the palestines in that situation?

Personally I think that Israel was founded illegally and the whole of it should belong to the Palestinian people that lived there for hundreds of years before the Zionists decided to blackmail world governments to 'get' that land. The Jews should not even be there right now.
However, you just have to accept reality now. Israel exists, and Israel isn't going anywhere. I'm convinced that the Palestinians will never get back all their land, especially since Israel is now armed with American nuclear weapons on Israel ballistic missles. The Palestinians have to accept this, and are gonna have to work with what they got. The best thing they can do now is establish their state and unite all the factions.

To Dushka: Most of the Palestinians who live there now are not the ones who made the decision to take the land. They are people who just happen to be born there after all this went down. They need a place to live too. But I agree with your solution, and yours too genetic freak. Divide the land.

Did you know that the Zionists originally wanted Zion to be in Southern Argentina?

doshka, i understand your anger. this conflict is hurting both sides constantly. but you have to understand that the jewish people didn't come to palestine in order to steal the palestinians land, persecute them and kill them. they came because they had nowhere to go. the jewish people were being persecuted in eastern europe, and all western countries closed their gates. when the jews turned to france they were rejected. when they turned to england they were rejected, and the same thing happened when they turned to the US. they had nowhere to hide from the persecution they were suffering from. so they went to palestine. and you were there, too. it doesn't justify the suffering of your people, which must end immediately. but it justifies the return of the jewish poeple to zion.
let me ask you a question. you live in a house. it is your house, for you have lived there for you entire life, and your parents lived there, and their parents lived there. one day, there is a storm outside, a raging, horrible storm. at that day you hear a knock on the door. in the doorway stands a family. that family tells you that they have no home. no one would take them in, and so they came to your home, which generations ago belonged to them. this family is beaten, suffering and poor. your home is their last resort. it is either your home, or death. will you not take them in?

really redcanada?? i never heard about that...but that would have been just as wong to the people in argentina..but back to the subject...i agree with you 100% geneticfreak but the problem is that with mediators and third parties like the U$ we never get fair treatment.,in the second camp david 2000 arafat was treated like a criminal...Barak refused to sit with him, he refused to eat with him...when the were forced to sit together Barak covered his face and refused to look at him! can you imagine the humiliation? arafat is not my hero but he is our leader and he deserves to be treated with respect...arafat constantly tried to develop relations with barak...the man is a monster! almost as bad as sharon...the bastard...but the point is that even in deviding the land unfairly we are refused in having an army...we deserve to be able to defend ourselves...the israelis demand control over roads..thats rediculous! how can we visit each other if whenever the israelis feel like it they enforce a curfew and block the exits?? they are denying us room to breath...and im sorry weatherman but i dont care about the israelis who were born there...i realise its not their fault but these people also hate us and serve in the army to kill us...there are no civilians in israel...since amerca love them so much and has decided to adopt them than america can find them homes!! not other peoples homes...today the israelis killed the parents of a 4 year old boy in front of him...when they saw the boy weeping over his parents' bodies they decided to have fun..and demolish the house of top of him...the pictures show a tiny, underfed, little boy with his legs and arms caught under the rocks of his house...a terrorist
