Today at my school they had all the kids in my class take the ASVAB test. The test is done by the military to see where they need to recruit for certain kids that are good at sertain jobs and stuff. I didn't take it, but I heared from people that a lot of kids got kicked out for writing things like "fuck the army" on their tests. Any way this kind of caught me by suprise so I didn't have time to prepare and get some anti-military propoganda to pass around. Does any body have any ideas for some action that can be taken against this test and any anti-military, anti-ASVAB test propoganda.
thanks.

For those of us who aren't in the States do you have any info on just what an ASVAB is?

ASVAB stands for Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery. Danny is mis-representing it a little bit. It is not given by the army. (at least, not in my state, in fact, there weren't even recruiters when I took it) And it's not just for the military its a series of tests, and the results can help suggest to you what kind of job you are qualified for.
I'd actually suggest taking it if you don't know what kind of job you want after high school. There is a place to select if you're considering the armed forces or not, just say no.
If you're a high school student odds are you'll be getting calls from recruiters, the ASVAB has little or nothing to do with that, especially if you don't say you're interested in the military.

If you really think it's used for military recruiting, can't you just refuse to take it?

yes you can refuse to take it. But I'm just trying to see if anybody has any creative ways of educating people about it so that they don't take it. And actaully there were a lot of military recruiter there that were doing the test, I know that in some places the fact that it is done by the military isn't very well known and the prupose of it is not very well known.
