Comrades,

At noon today, Yahoo eliminated the [email protected] e-mail account we have used since the founding of the League, without warning. As a result, close to a year's worth of correspondence, and numerous e-mail addresses we received from people during that time, were wiped out. If you have contacted the League at any time in the last year, please e-mail us at [email protected] so we can begin to rebuild our address list and re-establish contact.

What the fuck? Out of nowhere like that? That's really odd. Have you tried contacting them? I know there are tons of Communist organizations that use yahoo email addresses.

I contacted them directly. All they would say is that they closed the account based on "violation of the Terms of Service" -- i.e., bullshit blowoff answer. I'll wager that it was political.

That's complete nonsense. What a bunch of bullshit. My question would however be, how did they even become aware of the account out of the probably 100's of thousands that they host?

Your site/movement/whatever is becoming quite big, isn't it? Perhaps someone(could be bussiness, could be the pigs...) ordered Yahoo to shut down your email account for political reasons. Be sure to back up your site now, it could be next if you don't host it on your own server.

And even if you do have your own server, you should still back up everything to an off-site machine and/or removable media (tape, CDR, ect...) on a daily basis.

In others words, It is a way to fool the workers through reforms while keeping the fundamental structure of the system, that's human exploitation and capitalism. I just wanted to point that out since this is a revolutionary forum, and perhaps mfrc00 didnīt know what meant that symbol.

This is not the first time yahoo has done this. I remember about 2 years ago there was an Irish Republican group deleted. It wasn't very popular maybe 25 members. Yahoo seem to do this at random as many other Republican yahoo groups have last for years. So I say just restart your group, but keep a database of email address just incase. Best of luck.
