Nationalizing private industries

Wouldn't the nationalization of private industries be economically better for a capitalist nation as for then they could see the means of production and enforce what they please instead of the other way around? Would it also prevent the exploitation of workers? If so, why do capitalists oppose this?

Because capitalists support the consumer, and without choice the consumer suffers.

No difference, its the same thing for the worker. Expect exploitation will probably be more obvious under one of them.

The only thing that is not exploitative is the when the worker works for himself.
