What are your views on constitutions, how do they aid their countries? Lets particularly look at the American constitution.

I feel that they are written down for the sake of fawning some sort of guideline and nothing more for they are rarely enforced even in the United States. What usually happens is that there is some sort of "exception" which allows what is written in the constitution to be nulled as in the case of the Patriot Act. Even though we have branches to enforce the constitution, with the creation of parties it usually becomes the case that they enforce what the party beleives instead of the constitution. What must be done is a strict enforcement of the constitution so as to prevent the original goals from ever straining.
