I'm sorry to hear comrade. I'd say don't put more of your time in trying to convince right-wingers of your views, as it is only bringing you harm. Instead, try to find people of which you think they might actually have some of the same ideas on certain issues, and discuss with them (and, if you actually want to do something, set up actions together). Best of luck Comrade.

Hm. Self-defense is usually worth it.

You should try and see if there are any activists or groups in your area that have politics similar to yours. This way you will have allies and people who can help you in case a teacher tells you you are not allowed to wear communist t-shirts or whatever.
Also keep in mind that High School is not always the best place to meet other socialists as many people at that age are not as intreseted or serious as you seem to be about politics.
When I was in high school I was too busy getting drunk and high and hanging out to really care that much (in reality I still had many of the same convictions - anti-racism and anti-police, I just didn't think there was anything to do about it). Graduating high school and suddenly not knowing what to do and having a boss will change many of your classmate's attictudes and would probably make them more receptive to radical ideas.
We can change an induvidual's ideas with pacients and strong political arguments, but lived experience (poverty, war, depression) generally causes the big shifts in consiousness (like someone going from pro-capitalist to revolutionary).

fight back, get a group of at least left wingers, because it seems since its high school these "violent capitalists" just are pro-america for the hell of it, and dont what the hell they are talking about, and since america is capitalist to a degree, they agree with it, it is doubtful that they know how capitalism even works, put them in their place, also if having trouble finding like minded people in the school, look around your neighborhood, hope that helps

Spraypaint in red a hammer and sickle on their lockers :D
Im sorry friend. Just remember that you're superioir to them, smarter than them, and they're just ignorant fools. Theres strength in numbers, so just try your best to find people that think alike like you. Capitalists, particularly Americans, are stupid stuborn bastards. It's hard for you to get them to see things your way, or even getting them to care. Find people that will be actually willing to listen to you and accept what you say. Get them on your side. Try to get as many people. If you are the non-violent type than just try to avoid confrontation with these people directly. If not than just kick their asses, and explain to your parents that they're stupid capitalists. This could be a problem though if your parents don't believe in communism.

History is on your side, bro
Use history, facts, and info to show them their faults...
They can refute your views, but they cannot refute the truth...
And, if they get violent, stay strapped when possible

Firstly, I think you should never force anything on anybody.
If they are not interested, don't force it, you'll only be wasting your time. Never throw pearls before swine. As Ginger Goodwin said, a more subtle approach will attract the attention of the curious.
Secondly, I think all Leftists should learn some kind of self defense. We pose a threat to the Capitalists and all others who thrive on injustice and we are bound to face some kind of violence, whether physical or verbal. Now don't get me wrong, I'm not saying exert yourself and turn in Rambo, just learn to defend yourself physically against these brutal fucks, learn some kind of martial arts, the most reccommended being Judo, if you're a non aggressive person. ;)
As for being the only Communist in your school, I think Ginger Goodwin's suggestions really work. Also, the subtle approach technique really works, and gradually more and more people will take an interest in what you believe.
Good luck and welcome ;)

Jiu-jutsu would also be great if you dislike violence. If you don't care about cappies getting beat up seriously, pick up some of 'em old school Bushido-Kwai or Eskrima moves.. ;)

^No offense comrades
But nowadays, these conservative cappies carry heaters wit them
Just awhile ago, the son of a Vietnam vet shot at some anti-war demonstrators down here in Souther Cal, read in the paperz
So, IMO, the martial arts are good - but they're not much of a match against guns,
which are being employed more often by these NRA toting conservative cappies!
Now by this, Im not tellin ya to go out and cap those that disagree wit ya
But, maybe when u grow older, you're gonna have to carry a heater for protection
But for now, avoid violent confrontations
And focus on intellectual confrontations, in which we all know u can defeat them
Im at peace more, knowing that I got something under my belt to protect me from those that are willing to harm the people and their spokesmen

Hmm, I agree that you shouldn't waste your time and efforts on people who are giving you negative feedback, instead get a strong base, and then take them by force- whether this force be verbal or including some physical is up to you and the situation.
Best of wishes comrade.

Perhaps a subtle approach might work.
Dont mention the "C-word" (Communism) maybe say Socialism instead.
Folks have many preconceived notions about Communism and some tend to shut down their minds, theres no point swimming against the current.
I've found it's much easier talking about socialism in high school than communism.. though admittedly it's easier for me as a couple of my teachers are socialist or atleast sympathise with left wing politics and my history teachers hero is Castro...
but when speaking to the conservatives (which is the general flow around here as where I live is notably conservative) I've found they react better when i say socialism... communism either brings a string of insults or people just immediately turn off...
however seeing as i'm one of the "cool kids" as well as being one of the most prominent kids in the school curricular-wise (sorry to blow my own horn) (running for head of school council, head prefect, won the school's mock elections, been on lots of foreign exchanges, good grades etc) it's relatively easy to present my views and rarely am i actually shot down for my beliefs even after getting into debates with the deputy head...
Now I don't even get asked to remove my red star/hammer and sickle pin that I wear next to my school badges...

I have sort of the same problem...I don't meet anyone violent, though...
The people I try to explain Socialism to usually say "it can't work. They don't really have any place in the world market..." I explain that Great Britain, France, Germany, Sweden, Canada, and Australia are Socialist, and they always note how "screwed up" they are...I always say how those countries are such big pieces of the world market if Socialism couldn't work...they simply say "I just don't think it can work...". I usually take that as ownage...geeze...
Small question off-topic, is the Hammer n' Sickle the symbol for Socialism as well as Communism? Probably a stupid question, as Communism is Socialism...

Great Britain can hardly be considered Socialist
Communism=Socialism but Socialism doesn't always =Communism ;)

That is very sad. Perhaps you should consider hanging with people who are like minded as yourself. I don't see myself as some kind of appologist for my POV, and therefore don't need to "sell" anyone on my anti-profit beleifs. There doesn't seem to be any "forum" for this anyway. I don't try and approach anyone in authroity and get them to see my ways, becasue I do not believe America is ripe for abandoning the profit motive at this time.
I have some friends at a radio station I do some volunteer work at, Pacifica Radio. There are plenty of socialist leaning and downright socialists there. Consider finding them in your area and talk about your shared beliefs. It's got to be better than walking up to someone on campus and saying, "Want to talk about Karl Marx?" when they mainly want to talk about going to the mall.

Yeah, but they taught us that Great Britain was considered Socialist in marketing and economics...

I think you should fight back. If possibly, maybe plant drugs on them and ruin a good portion of their lives. I went through similar shit in my early years of high school, especially after 9/11 when all the kids started hassling anyone that looked mildly arabic. If it's a big problem, you can also try talking to staff, as they (sometimes) are there to help.
