Ouch what a great way to use nuclear waste  .
Is there any research about soldiers who come in contact with the Uranium on these bullets?

A nice load of hyperbole and statements without sources.
You can do better than this.

It's the pictures that irk me. The numbers are most likely blown out of proportion, And it's definitely one sided, but irregardless, it's been done, and thats just sketchy.
I'm not sure if the rounds are entirely to blame, I'm not much of a science person, but I'd imagine they play some role - uranium is uranium. I'd imagine carring them around in your tank isn't too healthy either. Wars are bad enough, bullets containing uranium just can't be good.
Shouldn't this fall in line with hollow points, or dum-dums, as "Inhumane" ?
And heres some stuff on DU and Soldiers;
Discounted Casualties (http://www.chugoku-np.co.jp/abom/uran/england_e/000608.html)
This (http://www.democracynow.org/article.pl?sid=04/09/30/1411222) ones about an American in Iraq.
And, lastly, the Guardian. (http://www.guardian.co.uk/uranium/story/0,7369,419882,00.html)

Also, take note that radiological materials are NOT the only source of cancers and birth defects. As gruesome as the pictures are, it does not give any indication that such things ocurred at a greater rate than in similar countries. It also does not help that UN sanctions prevented the import of badly-needed medical supplies.

Depleted uranium retains it's chemical toxicity of natural uranium, but
I'm not sure of the toxicity of tungsten (The more expensive, harder to cast alternative to DU)

DU is also used in tank armour, so it's radioactivity is obviously low enough for it not to be a concern.

It probably should. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Depleted_Uranium#Legal_status_of_military_use) Ironically, while hollowpoints are illegal to use in warfare, the are perfectly legal for police use

The best excuse I can come up with for police use of hollow points is that they would have a lower chance of piercing someone, thus reducing the risks of a bystander being hit.
But then, you'd think that would apply to the battlefield and civilians. Oh, yeah, civilians are okay to kill now.
I'll bet you they deemed FMJ's the legal round so they have a better chance of killing whomever is standing behind who they're shooting at.
Not cool.

They use special FMJ Rounds that are not designed to overpenetrate nor fragment or mushroom on impact.
I believe the .40 S&W round used in Police Glocks uses this.

I was thinking about this certain girl with I'm gonna be with on a field trip tomorrow and I started watching this flash animation thinking it was going yuca mountain or something that had to do with uranium storage and stuff. But then I see alll these mutilated and bloated babies.
