In studying theory, mainly of how capitalism works to better understand how to destroy it and studying Bussiness at school ( book-keeping, basic entrepunral skills, business plans and financial statements) i have come to realise that the thing the corperations fear most is not rallies, is not boycotts, is not a lawsuit (think McLibel) it is competition.

Why abort the system? Why is the domain of bussiness out of bounds for us whishing to change it?

Instead of leaving the system we should change it ( i know i sound like a petite-bourgises reformist but hold with me for a sec) start up our own busniness based not on profit but on ethical practices?

out compete the companies and then run things our way when we have control

sorry kid, nice ideas and all, but a not for profit company will get shut off of business really quick like due to competition, with more competition, theres higher prices, lower wages of your workers, higher prices of goods just to meet even

People will buy ethically produced products if they don't cost more than their capitalist alternatives. Oxfam Fair Trade (http://www.maketradefair.com/en/index.htm) and Fairtrade Labeling Oranisations (FLO) (http://www.fairtrade.net/) are good examples .

Ultimately though competition is good for the capitalist system. If you actually start putting serious market pressure on a local company they'll just cut back their costs and put out a lower priced product. Companies thrive on competition, it forces them to cut out the organisational fat and become more... well competitive.

I was not hinking of just plain competion in a marketable sense but follow it up with the counter culture movemnt against these companies

If McDonalds can get 90% of the population to belive the its food is good for you then im sure we can get enough people to belive us throungh this medium
