i read this after my friend said that it was an exact depiction of his adolescence. i dont wanna spoil it, so i wont say what happens, but lets say it left me very confused and worried for my friend's mental health :P
anyways, it was an alright read - a little too drawn out for me - but good nonetheless. according to my friend the author plays with language more than shakespeare. i didn't really pick up on it at all but that's probably cos i skimread it.
anyone else have any thoughts on it? its set and published in the US but i found it in the 'australian literature' section of my library, cos the author was born in australia i think. i hate how australians cling to people who were born here :P like a bunch of actors and singers for example who may have been born here but grew up and were trained in a different country, yet they STILL CLING TO THEM. LIKE CLINGWRAP. or gladwrap as we say here.
