No one can abolish money if alternative economic system is not created yet. Communist society will not use money because its economic system will be nonmarket.

I'm not quite sure I understand this. I never quite got the whole labor/time thing.

If I can build an engine in half the time it takes one of my coworkers, I have to get less money? I can see people who would purposely work less intensively just to get the wage they need. Nobody is going to starve themselves for increased productivity.

I can see money being around...for awhile. The question is where do we go from there? You suggested a computer database cataloging all of the labor time plus accounts of disabled people/children etc. An extremely complex economic calculation by any means.

Most importantly, it'll take time as well. As long as we're dedicating all of these resources to the development of a post-capitalist society, why bother going through that middle stage at all?

Participatory economics are new, and we're very unexperienced. However, coordinatorism has seen abismal failure and isn't likely to promise anything new. Why don't we try something something else?

The point I'm trying to make is, we're going to have a transition period no matter what. Whether you're going into socialism or communism, there will be a period of transition between them and capitalism.

Why take a detour when we can give the workers power directly?

I think it is all about getting the right mentality with the people. Communism cannot be forced upon a society. People must be shown the light, then it will take several generations of people to rid the society of greed and capitalistic ideals. Then the people will work hard just to contribute and not for any kind of monetary gain.

Of course it will be forced upon society.

And who will force it upon is the working class.

I think he means that you can't just jump into all out communism

But even then, he's missing the role of socialism.

Perhaps Socialism will have "equal wages" (withouth "work manager's", of course)- but Communism won't, since there's no wages to be equal WITH - Believe it or not. You're the one who thinks it's impossible; But 'we' (humanity) invented currency, and we can "reverse engineer" it aswell ;)
