Raul is not very popular among the Cubans. They should put someone younger by at least 30-40 years younger than both Castros :che:

Cuba is a democracy. In the end Fidel has very little power that the people could not overthrow. Because of this, it matter very little who comes after Fidel dies.
The best thing to do, would be elimination of the seat entirely but... meh.

The Cuban ppl will choose their method of government
But tha most important thing is to keep the imperialist US army outta of Cuba
After Fidel passes, there must be measures taken to fortify the Cuban island
Personally, I think that Fidel already has a plan and he's chillin...
He is an intellectual with a college degree, he's not foolish enough to leave this earth without takin care of his ppl
In case that the US army does invade, I would do anything to support the sovereignty of Cuba ....anything!!

Why on earth would the army INVADE cuba? I could see a cultural or political "invasion", but that doesn't seem to be what you are posting.

I don't see why the US would have an interest in Cuba. Except perhaps to right a perceived wrong. It's far to caught up in correcting its mistakes in Iraq.

Um... I imagine they would have an interest in Cuba for the same reason they've always had an internet in Cuba: making money for US capitalists.

They have plenty of interest in Cuba: money, as bbbg pointed out, apeasing the politically important Miami crowd, and, most imporantly, making an example out of Cuba.

I've no idea what will happen in Cuba post-Castro, there constantly seems to be propaganda floating around as to how democratic the society is. But it will be tested on Casto's death and then we'll know for sure just how much he has accomplished.

Indeed. Even if it isn't as democratic as labelled, I think the Cuban model is infinitely preferable to the neo-colonialism enforced on other Latin American countries. We'll see how the Cuban people feel, I suppose, but I have a feeling if they chose to go away from socialism the results would be worse for the majority of the people.

How many threads can be made on the same subject?
When Fidel dies, Raul becomes President, until the next National Assembly of People's Power, at which time they will elect a president (very likely will continue to be Raul).

Oh it is good to mention that the U.S. government already has a plan ready fo when Fidel dies. Talks about all sorts of crazy shit, imprissioning all party members, etc. You can read about it here (http://www.freepeoplesmovement.org/cppstatement.html).
