I don't follow any political theory, just enjoy learning about each (I am certainly a leftist of of course). I am writing an essay on the refugee status in Australia, and I have to pick a side, and of course I chose not to be an insensitive arse-hole about it (as many did). A am about three pages into a draft, and am touching onto how borders are irrelevant etc.

So what are all you anarchists point of view on those seeking asylum in your country, what would the perfect state (or lack of state ;) ) involve for refugees.

Im not sure, as I mentioned before i am not an anarchist, but will it mean borders are open and it's the people job to help out the new displaced "forigner".

I'd like to hear from communists and that too. :)

Cheers.

this is quite possibly one of my favourite topics ever [the system australia has in place for 'dealing' with refugees that is.]

however, i haven't thought about it from an anarchist's perspective really, just from a basic human rights one. a good friend of mine [also an anarchist] recently underwent a massive court trial along with three other people for aiding refugees 'illegal' escape from mandatory detention centres though, i could talk to him about it for you if you want. he's rather intelligent so he'd be able to explain it much better than my vague self :P

oh and he was found not guilty :D
