they're ok. all the trendy indie scenesters at my school love them. as well as bright eyes (eugh) and belle and sebastian (great, but only up to a certain point).

US indie rock is ok, but not a patch on the underground brit stuff. The US stuff takes way to much influence from emo style floating around.
If you want to here some amazing indie stuff the 'trendy indie kids' have never heard of check out a bit of Sans Tauma and David R Black.

The Decemberists and Bright Eyes have a shitty emo thing going on that makes me throw up

Actually, though this breaks my basic premise regarding music, I actually like coheed and cambria.
