Are you familiar with the TV show Survivor? The show where a few people are put on a desolate island and try to survive? That show was first recorded by Swedes in Malaysia and the Philipines, but now they are going to change island:
Cuba. They are going to send from Cuba. This has outraged many right-wing politicians who say that "Cuba consistently violates human rights and Cuba is an ironfist dicatorship".
The three leftist parties (former Communist Left Party, Social Democrats and Environmentalists) doesn't seem to care about this, but the liberals and conservatives do.
Now my question is: Is Cuba/Castro really so bad or is the reputation wrong? I have always thought of Castro as a "good guy" and so does the leftists in Sweden (55% of the people) think, it seems.

His reputation has been built up by the strong Propaganda. If not, why do 11 million Cubans support him?

Even on South Park, they say Castro is a "communist dictator" and that Cubans arent happy and free an blah blah blah, in this show when Communism in Cuba falls (yeah right) they say, "the country is now open to American tourism" suggesting that it is Cuba that shut Americans out.
All BS.
Castro is a good man, look at this nice third world country, best health care in the world

You seem to side left to right easily. I suggest that you read up on Castro and Cuba, instead of just having the same opinion as what others say.
Castro in my opinion, after the small amounts of objective reading I've done, is a good man. Ofcourse, I don't know everything about the man, I am open to what others have to criticize and say negative of him.

ComradeJunichi, it hasn't got to do with me siding easily with the left, it has got to do with the media coverage. I haven't acquired a bad picture of Castro just because of nothing bad being said about him, until now. I have always thought bad about the dictatorship of Cuba, but I have seen it as a "good" dictatorship, if such exists. I blame media coverage for that, not for me siding easily with the left (I am _not_ a conformist or whatever it is called).
Well, I've read a report now about Cuba, and I have to say that it is sad that the country has failed in democracy and economy since 1959. Not allowing free press or free speech is a flaw and is somewhat like a tumour; It eats the country from the inside. I don't really know my opinion of Castro right know, now he seems to be somewhat good and somewhat "evil". I don't know if he can do anything more for Cuba, a regime change (from one socialist to another socialist regime) would fit so that the individuals ain't opressed.
